I would assume most dry trim? This is just my second harvest and my last one did not have Colas like this. Seems like best option is to dry trim? Lots of frosting on these. Not near time, just looking for opinions on trimming.

Actually most of us do an initial wet trim before harvest. You can do that the week before the chop. Then finish trim and dry. Wet trimming is SO much easier than dry.

Oh, OK. I made an assumption. There is so much frost on these leaves I just don’t want to waste any of the good stuff. Based on my last trim I trimmed most all of the leaves off. Do you?

Yes, I currently use a bowl trimmer and save the trim for edibles.

I use a bowl trimmer, and trim when I harvest, then put on drying racks to dry.
Cutting the plants and hanging to dry then trimming dry is the best way to go for best results. Drying before trim best help preserve terpenes for flavor, aroma and effects.

I hang the plant whole to dry, or cut into a few pieces if need. After a week or so, I do a rough trim removing fan leaves and larger sugar leaves, and remover the buds from branches. Not a total trim, but from here the buds go in a box for a couple of days to “sweat” and begin curing. Then a final trim and into Grove Bags for final cure/storage.

Thats exactly how i do it , but i gotta tell ya , i absolutely hate this part of growing, i have arthritis in my hands and it kills me after just a short time , i have six plants ( the legal limit in my state for flowering plants ) I’ve harvested one so far , been in the basement trimming 4 hours and im not even close to being done , ugh it is worth it but damn it sucks, just realized how old this post is , oh well maybe someone will read it anyways , happy growing everyone

I’ve only hand trimmed also. I like the idea of a bowl trimmer but doesn’t it take a lot of the trichromes off the buds also? Seems like it would get a build up just like a grinder.

It helps if you have enough to share the finished product. I give a lot away, and one of the friends I give it to will be joining me in the trimming.
