Harvesting Time?

A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks.

“Attached is a picture of two bunds on an AK47 plant that is 54 days into flower. Are they ready to harvest?”

She’s not ready yet and you will need a magnifier(40x-120x) to see the amber.

The pistils are still very white so she has a ways to go. Another two weeks minimum.

Remember flowering is the date that pistils appear, not the day you switch lights.

You could harvest now, but you are still a ways away from peak maturity. Those white hairs are telling you that flower production is still happening and the real clue is trichome development. You will need a small magnifier that gives you 60X or so. Look at the grow guides on the site. You’ll love some of the pictures too. Also, look at a mature example of your strain. That will give you an ideal to aim for.

Its my first growgrow, outdoor in coolish climate.

What stage would you say they are at? 1 or 2 weeks out?

A lot of my leaves are yellowing except the ones around the buds.

Also noticed soom black dots on leaves, quite wet lately so worried about mold

And the mold

You are still a ways off from harvest. At least a couple of weeks. Are you still giving nutes? If so, there should be a little N being given, but your plants will be cannibalizing their own N at this point. You REALLY want to keep the humidity down as much as possible now. If you develop bud rot you will be hating life. Very pretty pictures! Nice job so far!

You definitely have a problem whit them… Mine she’s to young for now(just day 55)

Stop giving nutes a week ago as thought it was close to harvest.

Heres my plan for now:

Give one more feed
Trim yellowed leaves particularly large ones
Cover if it rains again

Any other tips for this stage?

Feeling good about outdoor growing, hopefully my first try works out well. Really could become a long term hobby!

Only water… You have a good magnifier? (40x-120x)

Yes, I think it’s a good idea to remove dead and dying leaves for a couple of reasons. One, there’s a potential for disease so get that plant material out of the grow area and two, increasing airflow around maturing buds in a damp environment is always a good thing! Believe me: you do NOT want bud rot!

That is something that you obviously have to weigh: if outside conditions deteriorate you could lose the plant so of course harvest.

Man! I even wrote that after toking on a WW doobie! Sitting on the patio enjoying the evening, watching the ash from the wildfires fall around us.

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the great tips!

I have removed all dying leaves and any showing signs of potential mold.

I will hold off on harvest for another while as the summer weather has returned, ill keep a close eye and any further signs of bud rot ill make a swift and decisive move and harvest.

Such a beautiful plant i would be extremely upset if things go pear shaped at this stage

I may have a BIG problem

I think its bud rot, what woyld be great is if someone can advise of i can:

A: cure the issue
B: ignore
C: harvest

Is it too late has the rot gone too far and have damaged all buds?

Uploading… Uploading…

Its mainly the top buds as they are the largest and also on of the side branches

2 pictures are not uploaded… Let them upload and after that you hit the reply button.
