Is it time for me to trim?! Flushed the plants and left them with no water for 7 days, the last two days were of complete darkness. Cut the plants yesterday night, and today they are very dry. almost all smaller stems snap, and all bigger stems bend, but seem to be close to snapping. In my opinion, i believe i am ready to trim because there is little moisture left and i want to save it for the curing process.
Trim it up😉
You could take a few buds put in a jar with a mini hydrometer and check your moisture. I’m just not familiar with a one-day drying process. I usually shoot for 7 to 10 days slow drying process, temperature 66 to 70 degrees in a dark place. then go to jars for curing. Good luck
I’m with @kellydans on this, get some into a jar with a hygrometer and see what your RH is like.
What RH are you looking for when you start the curing process?
62%, I dry for a few days then into jars with a hygrometer. I leave it 24hrs and see what I’m sitting at. If I’m high, I shake the buds a little then I take the lid off and leave it off until it starts to come down. If I’m off the scale high then it’s on to the rack again for a day. If I’m low, which is rare but does happen then I stick 3 fan leafs in, one at the bottom, one in the middle and one on the top. The lid goes back on and I watch over a 24hr period. I will let the RH go up to 65% maybe a touch more then it’s out with the leafs and lid on. Monitor for another 24hrs and the RH will start to drop and hopefully land around 62%. Then I start the whole process over again
Once your RH has sat stable for a week with no movement from the 62% then you can sit back and watch your bud cure. At this point 1 wont open the jar at all. Be vigilant though as mould is always just around the corner
Whilst on the subject, the wife asked why dry in the dark? I dont know I said. Soooooo WHY?
I am not 100% on this… But wanted to test my knowledge… I think it has to do with thc degrading in light.
@Growmoredank has it nailed . Mine goes into a box while its curing
