Thank you sir. There is a 4-5 in. Layer of composted horse manure, a layer of composted leaves and a layer of homemade compost. No till this year, chop and drop method. So far so good! 
Just a quick update, I will be absent for a bit from this forum. Not sure the status of my garden, present or future, things have taken a devastating turn of events at Happyland. 
I was informed yesterday that my beautiful bride of 26 yrs, is no longer with us. Happyland is no longer happy. Just know ,I enjoy this place immensely. Sense of family is tight here. I hope to be back soon, though a chapter in my life come to an end, my book is still open. For now. Asking for prayer for myself and my family. Peace be with all of you.
