Happy frog soil, high ppm and low PH

I will conduct a slurry tomorrow, and brush up on that article you sent in earlier seems to be a very informative read. I’ll plug the numbers into this thread tomorrow.
Tyvm @Nicky @Zee for taking the time out of your night to answer my questions.

Can anyone tell me what I am looking at? I recognize the two stipules but this new section I’ve never seen before and stood out to me

Look at you with your botany terms!:+1:

Since you didn’t circle exactly what your concerned about I’m not exactly sure what your asking about but it looks fine to me, some plants have different structure an extra leaf or flower or stipule

I actually have a botony book at home but I’m at work till the end of the month if you want I can dig it out and check it for you.

No worries, I wouldn’t call it a disagreement, as I said from the start, it’s all in perspective.

Happy growing! You can tag me too! NFG! Different perspective or not

@Byronyo, welcome to the community and to the forum. As I see everybody has their own opinion so I guess I’m gonna throw out my opinion. In all my years of growing I have never tested the soil never have I ever tested the pH in soil. I’ve learned to grow from Hells Angels to Hippies! I have grown trees outside some 11/12 ft.6/7 wide. like last year. Which I miss, due to my disability. for many years, tried this that, etc. I’ve been on well water since 1982 and my well water from my tap is 7.5/7.6, I actually only give my plants the bare minimum of water, until feeding then heavy dose every Wednesday,
So to me you’re doing the same thing that I’m doing we have the same quality of water, I just don’t test it and I never will there’s no need. To the growers it read this this is my only personal way that I grow and I am so stuck in my ways and as my 19+ pounds of last year of harvest,

Now I’m forced to grow inside in a tent, but at least I steal can have my medicine to help me with my rehabilitation since I’m part machine yes I mean metal in my body. So man, I hope this helps you with your grow, and as always stated it don’t matter how you grow it as long as it produces medication for you to help you with your symptoms then by God that’s all that matters period. Happy growing!

@G1291 sry I’m not sure what I see, my 50 yr old :eyes:, aren’t what they used to be. But if you have any concerns look at this plant, ooh I was mad, veg it for 9 weeks, from seed, flip to flower 2 weeks see pollen seeds, :rage: all that work for nothing. I so hope that it’s not going to be the case with your plant. So here’s the pic

Hope this helps you with your grow. Good luck with your grow, and happy growing.

Woahhh!! Those are absolutely MASSIVE. I can’t wait to have the opportunity to grow something on that scale. But I decided to start with a tent since everything can be controlled.
Honestly, a lot of people tell me to stop chasing numbers especially so early but I just want to make sure my plants are in a happy environment always.
I’m sure as I get more comfortable in the hobby I will naturally become more lax.
I appreciate your input totally, and will definitely take into consideration the wisdom you’re passing on through the countless years of trial and error.

Always had my run off pH higher than input but I didnt care as long as the plant looked happy and healthy. That being said, if its much much higher then id definitely try to fix the pH issue early on to avoid issues down the road. @Nicky provided a lot if great sources there!

How do my seedlings look?:o
I believe they look happy, so I’m going to relax and enjoy watching the grass grow lol

Yes sir! Your seedlings look absolutely fine so sit back, smoke a joint, and enjoy the process. Those plants are very very resilient so don’t worry about them

@Byronyo, yes indeed they were, my biggest harvest ever, it was over 19/20 lbs, I just remembered it took 6 of us people to trim for 2 weeks straight. With 2 trim saw, oh it was a pain, I was a chicken with my head cut off, remember what was and what day was what. I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you have a lot of help. my friend lost of couple of lbs due to whatever, I put mine in 8 different totes after cutting it, took it home and hung it. It smelled like blueberries in the room. Blue cookies, Blue Dream, wedding cake, and Gg4.

Great video👍!! Dr. Bruce Bugbee is amazing!! I could sit in his class all day!!

The soil should buffered about 1000 of those 3200 you say ?

No the soils fine at the ppm it is. All organic soil starts off like 3-4000 ppm

That depends if you want to adjust up or down. Lime is good to raise pH. Sulfur lowers soil pH.

@Byronyo I just found this thread and it’s a month later and I’m having the same issue with FFHF soil.

I watered for the first time today. Water going in was Ph at 65.5. Runoff Ph was 53.6 for P1 and 52.2 for P2.

IDK either, but the plants look good, they are only a few weeks old. Same thing happened to me last grow. I got 8oz. So? My PPM was 1100 and 1311 respectively.

This is something that has been commonplace for me with FFHF.

I have added lime in the soil already. Let’s see if the Ph goes down next week. Thanks for the post.

My best outcome with FFOF was starting with ph at 5.6 to 6.3 , after about the third watering , ffof seems to buffer out some but you must keep it consistent are the soil will lose its range either up or down if you let the soil dries to much in between watering , plain ph water pour in from the top , nutrient feeding I let the soil absorb the mix up into the pot seems to work best and less headaches if you manage your watering in 3 gallon pots by a 2 liter bottle for watering and a one liter for feeding ! Amazing results and no leaf tip burns !

I’m putting in water at 6.5 Ph and getting a runoff at 5.3. Lime has been added.

I don’t know what you mean specifically? I should keep my water at 6.5 and it will buffer out?@yoshi And the Ph will get to normal levels in runoff?

I was going to put in water Ph to a higher level. 6.7, 6.8 to see if things evened out, but it’s the opposite, just keep the water the same Ph?

Yes the more you water it , the more it will buffer to a more stable reading :books:, but don’t try to flush it to suddenly ? If the plants are not showing any bad signs , instead of pouring in from the top , have you tried reverting your watering from the bottom ? It’s mainly how I buffer out my soil if it’s reading high , Seaweed extract can help are Kelp or Dolomite lime , I crushed my lime in a very fine dust and mix it with .6mls of recharge and top dress with that and watered it in maybe twice and my dirt balanced out gradually without stressing the plants :potted_plant: .
