Handheld digital USB microscope. Anyone?

I just bought one. Short $$$. USB cable links up to my phone. Seems like just the ticket for examining trichomes.

Sure looked easy on YouTube. However, my results are less than exemplary. In plain English, the images suck.
Even at the low end of magnification it’s almost impossible to hand hold and maintain focus and get a useable image.

Can anyone help?

I use a camera tripod to stabilize mine and use the dail to focus. Kinda hard toblend a hand not knowing what exact scope and image problems. You can be too far away, not have a proper magnification ect. But it’s a microscope so I don’t think that’s the issue

You know, thank you because I wasn’t putting it in that perspective. I’m using it like a hand held close up camera, when in fact it’s a microscope. Both the microscope and the subject have to be motionless.

I’ve been there! Hand wasn’t steady as I thought.

I put mine directly on the tip of a cola so the bud goes a little bit inside to end of the scope. The cover on the end of the scope will hold the bud still.

I also clip off buds and set them on a table to get a different look. Ive found that shoving a bud into the front of the scope works best.

I have to set mine on something to stabilize it or at the very least use both hands. Focusing is a pain also on mine. I have to turn my lights off and use the microscope lights, on low setting. If not, it seems to illuminate the trichs to the appearance of false cloudiness. In my experience.

I bought a cheap micrphone stand off Amazon that has a flexible head on it. clip around the microscope. It takes a minute to get it all set up but works great.

I prefocus my microscope. Once its set where I want it. I can shove a bud/cola into the cover and it will hold it still no matter how shakey I am and it will stay in focus. I do have to clean trichomes off the end of the scope every now and then.

Bent down, phone on thigh and hands on microscope and once I get the view I want quickly snap a shot. It works.
