That’s what they do (preflower stretch) you’re doing nothing wrong. You can pound it with light, this helps slow the stretch and keep your nodes closer together
Some strains stretch more than others. You’ve likely still got some more stretch to go. They usually stretch for about 3 weeks. Most of it occurs in the first two weeks. This plant is day 31 of 12/12, and it’s still slowly getting taller, but the main stretch is over. It a little more than doubled in height.
As said some strains stretch more than others. And even within a strain, one plant may stretch more than others. This is the case with a GDP.
This a photo of it on 3/9 the day I changed to 12/12. I measured their height to be 21 - 22"
Here she is on 3/20. Measured at 32 - 35". A 100% Indica stretching about 12"
I did not want to risk running out of height so I super cropped the main stems and took about 6" off the overall height.
Talk about recovery power. The next day following super cropping
