Growing without lights

I have heard that photo period plants need 18 hours of light per day. I am growing in a greenhouse. I can’t afford high dollar grow lights let alone the astronomical electricity bills that they generate. Will the long days of summer be adequate lighting?

LED grow lights have really come a long way, depending on what you need it may not be a huge electrical expense. My light in my 3x3 tent running 18/6 365 days a year only costs around $300 a year. That comes out to about $25 a month for good weed, cheap in my book.

My greenhouse is 10X9X8. I have spent my grow budget. I have a humidifier and fans. I’ll be able to control humidity and temperature in the greenhouse. I’m going to rely on the natural light from the sun. I hear that’s the best. Chas

Cannabis didn’t start growing under LED lights. Your plants will get plenty of light from the sun in a day’s time. In many way growing outdoors is a lot easier than indoor.

It’ll be wonderful, stay vigilant with pests and mold outdoor! Grasshoppers LOVE LOVE LOVE MJ plants, at least in my area. I lost an entire massive outdoor plant to them in 2 days. There was like 50 of those little shits chomping away. I could literally hear them eating it! I decided to let them have at it, I smoked, and observed. I determined they were all super stoned and had munchies so they kept eating, and got stuck in a thc fueled never ending food frenzy. Lol

God I’m funny.

I ate a fried grasshopper once. Not bad all things considered.
Wouldn’t want it for a staple diet.

Grasshoppers were abundant here last summer. I got pretty good at knocking them off the plants and then doing a little jig smashing them on the ground. My neighbors would have thought I was insane if they ever looked over the fence!

@JaneQP Thats funny…yet I can relate I don’t have too many Grass Hoppers ( a few) I hear ya on the neighbors thing…Mine must have heard me cussin and “crying”/ranting on the caters eating my babies …just when they were at their peak ( Oct/croptober)… As I look back now I think I was totally insane …aka " Goin Off"… I was totally pissed that all my efforts all season were muddled by the last 10 days or whatever by these lil bastardos…I mean I really have enough for me…but I don’t like giving in to them for all the work I put in… As I look back now I need to chill…I have enough…but still Its a war against the machine and the machine of nature usually wins…But I wont give in…I will still fight… :boom This season I may try a screened in grow outdoors… Hmm we shall see…
