Sometimes you just gotta stop to appreciate the little things. Like a rosin doob, frosty Guiness, and a cannoli from your favorite deli.

Well, The peppers are no more. I forgot them outside the other night and it just happened to be 20 degrees when I woke up. Swiss chard and kale may pull through, but I still have 3 of each in the ground from last year that still haven’t bolted. Should be any time now. On the bright side I’ve been getting the garden area rearranged to make better use of the shade trees and the natural slope of the land. All the baby veggies are getting their legs under them.
Lol, quite the differance between in the ground and on the ground.
Duke discovered the the “swimming pool” in the garden.
And Meat discovered that vetch makes a great dog bed
The girls are starting to slow down on the water. I keep getting a nagging feeling my light’s are still too high so I turned them down a bit more. We shall see. I think I decided I’m just going to transplant the clones and reveg them to go outside this summer. I need to call a meeting of the minds so I can figure out what we’re running and how many. I’m thinking something gassy and a maybe something blueberry to go with the hash plant.

Looking good minus the peppers, drop some more, try again. ![]()
I’m hoping my green house can fit over my garden bed this weekend and I’m getting almost everyone situated in there forever homes, nights will be staying warmer sooner than later finally. ![]()
I did a couple weeks ago. It had become pretty clear the infested ones weren’t gunna do the things. Although, I did seem to knock out the aphids before the plants froze
Thinking about getting some more seeds too since it’s payday.
Love the color on this one some, fat buds ![]()
WHOOOO! New seeds. I got some flowers for the garden and some different squash and peppers to try. Some cantaloupe too. I found out that what I’ve always called cantaloupe is actually muskmelon and I’ve never actually had cantaloupe. Very excited to try it. I got my rows set in the garden and cover planted in all the walkways. After two days of soaking the area I came out this morning and there were tons of different types of flies, butterflies, and wasps. I can only imagine what I’ll get once I get some flowers going.
Pole beans should be ready to go out soon.
I got the clones transplanted so I should be revegging them in a day or two.
The big Choco is really starting to foxtail bad. I’m going to guess it’s mostly genetic since it’s the only one. They all got sag a couple days ago. They should be getting the week 5 feed in the next couple days.
I went to empty the kitchen scraps into the bokashi bucket and I had this big old monster growing.
good call, I went a searching and found a second hand one unopened in the plastic(we shall see) for $200. whooo new toys!
Speaking of new toys, The other day I open the tent and half of my fans are dead(dog hair and trichomes are deadly combo for them cheap motors). I picked up a cloudray S9 in hopes I can replace 3 cheap fans with 1 nice oscillating one. Hopefully I don’t regret it. Between that, accessories for a new phone, and Pulse meter I’ve blown my toy budget for a while.
We got our first rain of the year yesterday. 18 hours of steady drizzle. After that I started getting cover crop popping up everywhere in the garden. It occurred to me that I’m on city water now and need a filter for the garden water. Also got the thyme and oregano transplanted to the herb bed. Thinking I might try putting out a couple of the pole beans with a plastic tent see what happens. I moved before I could finish the old greenhouse, but the pieces sure have come in handy.
The girls are doing their thing. Clearly still have some issues to smooth out, but I’ll take the incremental improvement each round. I am at least getting back to a place where the girls aren’t completely toasted by week 6.
On the bright side I managed to get the big tomato turned around. Lots of new green growth but after a year of back and fourth she’s putting out a fraction of the flowers. They aren’t dropping off though so big win there.
New Phone, new camera with all kinds of cool features I don’t know how to use. I need to find a tripod for long exposure. There is no way I’m holding perfectly still for four seconds.

Whew, it’s been a long week. I drank so much mead
at the ren fair last Saturday that the hangover lasted all week. Between that, blown radiators, nails in the tires, dog fights, faulty mobile home receptacles, and an unfortunate encounter with a prickly pear in bare feet, I am most definitely ready for the weekend.
I got the new pulse meter and it has certainly been enlightening. Turns out my lazy ass has probably been under-watering from the word go. with my normal routine I was getting the pots to about 20% field capacity on the high end. The garden area is an even sadder story. I’m sure I still have some calibration to work out, but watering to runoff during week 7ish seemed like a bad idea when I’m already having issues so I calibrated with some of the unused soil of the same recipes.
Other than that the girls are getting along. I gave them the first scope yesterday and I’m starting to get a few cloudy trichs here and there so it shouldn’t be too long to axe time. On the bright side they are still marginally better than the last few rounds and actually smell decent.
All the veggies are moving along. The kale outside started flowering. As soon as the flowers opened the cabbage aphids appeared. Iput a dent in them yesterday with the soap. Looks like today is going to be cool and cloudy with some rain later so probably a good time to foliar some azasol. I have a few little pole beans and lots of flowers. It’s getting close to transplant time for the rest. As soon as they get comfy in in the 1/2 gal plastic pots it’s time to start going outside. I’m also noticing that the nursury bags probably aren’t the best option outside the high RH environment under the dome. The middle is staying wet while the perimeter is bone dry within a day. I think the next round I’m going to try nursery bags to germinate then plastic pots till the last transplant to the final 10 or 15 gal fabric pots.
Glad that weeks over with. Literal jungle
. Creatures and all.
Heck yeah you have been busy, looks good, I have often looked at that pulse meter, lot a good reviews on it.
That’s the goal. I found a lady beetle on one of the little tomatoes when I was transplanting. I couldn’t help but think, “why aren’t you outside by my kale”. Then I realized if it’s hanging out on the indoor plants there must be food somewhere.
So far I’m loving it @Q19Z6TC1. The insights I’ve gained over the last few days of playing with it were well worth the price of admission for a nerd like me. Time will tell how much of that is accurate useful info, but so far I see some positive changes in the first week.
That’s how I do. I found calibrating a medium with established roots going already, messed the calibration up.
