Growing organically

I will say this growing organically is great and all but why does no one ever tell you about the smell?? Compost teas and those ocean and fish amendments are not pleasant. Even worse when you brew it for 24 plus hours :face_vomiting:

Man I didn’t have a fan or anything and I watered with compost tea man the smell in the tent I had to get some fans asap :sob::sob:

Just a warning for anybody who grows with nutes and wanted to try organic.

Maybe some seasoned growers will get a laugh out of this :joy:

Aha ok yah i make banana and cucumber skin tea for flowering and i make a nutrient tea out of worm castings bat guano volcanic rock dust and kelp and fish liquid with molasses aswell but mainly for veg stage but do give once in flowering stage

I got a grow journal up right now I’ll tag you in it.

Teas are great, provides more nutes for plants and makes the ones you got in the soil more available, some can even help fix your PH, breaking down the organic matter in the soil can help with Deficiencies by releasing nutes that your plant needs but hasn’t been able to get to that well.

Ok sweet thanks

What kind of smell are you getting? My sense of smell is bad but I’ve had an ammonia scent before. Anaerobic bacteria were the cause I think.

I grow organic buds also n its not too bad but it does smell funky!! Good grows growmie!!

Like poop. Mix with rotten food

I have not encountered that smell in my grows.

I do have one product called Peruvian gold made from llama dung and that stuff smells like a diaper😀. I used it last grow but it was diluted one capful to a gallon so the smell didn’t stick around.

Growing organically doesn’t have to smell up the grow space. Teas are not required to grow organically. Many many dry nutrients are organic and have little to no smell at all.

@MH47 Agree! I am now all dry amendments indoor but will be using up the tea stuff and liquids outdoors.

I like the teas though I find it a very carefree route n the smell isn’t horrible when the fans are on.
