Growing Durban Poison

Liquid lime will work as it’s likely KOH. Does it have an ingredients list on the bottle?

Ok I will figure out correct ph to start but my main question is does it always hold close enough for a weeks time without needing to adjust again? I know me and I will check daily anyway :sunglasses:

Earlier you said with the proper stone…what would that be for bucket or 7.5 gal tote?

@Drillbit GH does have an organic line, but I do not know how it will do. I’m not an organic guy. I prefer to understand what I’m putting in my plant with chemically defined nutrients.

Baking soda. CalCarbonate

Whoops sorry, sodium carbonate is baking soda. Cal carb is used in antacids.

This organic line claims these nutes can be used hydroponically but I’d be worried about the smell. Lol

I would not suggest using the NoG line. It has a ton of organics that are incompatible with DWC. They told me flat out.

Good to know. Thanks. I’d rather go with something tried and true for the hydro anyway.

There are quite a few here who use GH Flora and only the Micro and Bloom (and leave out the Grow) in a Lucas formula 1partM/2partB and adjust the quantity full strength being 8mlM- 16mlB/gal

Grow a strain that likes higher heat and humidity for your conditions @RAP. A Maui Wowie likes that. I am sure there are a number of strains that like that. I bet more of the Indica’s do. Look for weed from locations that has a high daily average temperature. But even then if you are using a R-DWC you can control the water temperature mechanically.

Is this the trio you’re referring to?

You should be able to pick it up for ~$25/gal. But yes that’s it. Again all you need is Micro and Bloom if you want to go with the Lucas formula. You don’t need a full gallon for Grow even if you don’t.

What is the “Lucas formula”?

Lucas Formula uses 1 part Micro to 2 parts Bloom through the entire grow and just varies the concentration. Full strength is 8ml Micro/16mL Bloom @pH 5.8 (1000pm in RO water). It skips the use of Grow completely. I have used it with success as have others @TDubWilly

Sweet! Good to know. Is there an advantage to using this formula?

Advantage is you only need 2 of the 3 solutions I a simple formula instead of ramps of different concentrations of GMB through the grow.

Awesome! Then my best option would probably just to buy the two chemicals by the gallon, as you mentioned before. Are there any other additives I should purchase to get started? I think my tap water is at RO standards. It comes from 250ft below the ground.

Get a quart of Armor Sl to stiffen up the branches in flower. I only use ~10ml per 4/5 gallon so it lasts a while. It has a high pH so add it first, dilute it then add the M&B.

Is dwc run at 7.5?

If you are referring to ph, it is 5.5-6.2 for hydro, I believe
