@SausageMahoney
HLG will provide more current information.
The “key” seems to be what type of light driver and what type of controller.
They sent me these when I asked.
the version HLG sent wouldn’t upload (pdf file)

Also helps my memory, fingers, and smile activity.

Learn much here and would love to be @growdocs apprentice.

Come on! You can water this freaking coco 27 times a day! LMAO You don’t want to apprentice under me, you pick up too many bad fun habits…

story of my life.
Nothing unusual for DDD.

Numbers back on track today, I’ve learned EC in coco has a profound effect on PH , since I’ve fed them at higher EC, the ph has fell back in the sweet spot, a couple are off a small amount but a couple more feeds should have them inline across the board.
Seed girls were fed and the two Blackberry Moonrocks were treated with STS, we are officially off and running on the seed run. I was gonna flip them today, but I think I’ll give the STS a week to get started, then flip the lights on all of them.

Tent girls actin right again too.

@SausageMahoney , this is not that kind of journal! LMAO

Numbers all in line today, all are getting closer to being same across the board. Room is over stuffed. Clones are spitting roots already in only 9 days from cuttings, this coco must have magic dust in it, every thing is faster.

I love coco. Its works so well with autopot feed system they can just suck up all they want all the time.

I’m about to order before the next run, I don’t have time to water and document runoff and all every day. I’m loving the coco, hating the water requirements. A nice big res will fix that.

Thats right. just give them a bucket and coco as their straw.

In self watering bases how do you keep track of the nutritional uptake of the plant without runoff?

I’m thinking about trying coco soon but also wouldnt want to hand water constantly…

In the autopots, i make sure the res numbers are good and let them grow. I check the res ph everyday because my ph likes to slowly drift up.

As @Bigb2 said monitor ph in res. You can also watch how much water you are going thru a day. As flower sets in you can see plants going thru a gallon a day. As flowering ends you will see them drink less water.

Is salt build up not a worry in a system like that as long as you’re monitoring pH and water levels?

From what I read, since you are bottom feeding the salts get pushed up to top of pot. With auto pots you normally never want to top water after starting on res with synth nutes.

Exactly what @patrick1960 said. The salts push to the top. Never want to top feed after using a bottom feed system like autopots.

I’ve been studying them and autopot says same, salts get pushed up to the top 1 to 1 1/2 inches of soil above the root zone, which doesn’t affect them. At worst, if you had a super long grow, you could just remove the top layer if needed, but they say not……
