Grow tent open or totally sealed

I Do the best I can with the numbers but I learned a long time ago to quit chasing numbers. Your grow will turn out fine . numbers a Little high or low. I would not lose sleep over it.

You’re right. I just hate having to leave my tent half open and just inviting bugs to go in

Put an inline filter on the inlet to keep bugs and dust out.

Can you take a picture of how your fans are configured? I’m not understanding how they are arranged. If you’re having this problem in March is not good.

Had no choice …works better the. Cranking the ac way down just for the lung room…
Happy growing…

Yo I like it. I switched 1 of my 2 ceiling supplies to vent both my tent up into the attic. Maybe I do the same in to the 2 tents also?? Like so many of us heat is definitely an issue.

I got to keep my tent cracked like that, and now I have the 4 inch exhaust with the carbon filter obviously on the outside of my tent.

For starters, get rid of all that duct. And 4" fan is too small of exhaust for 5x5. You need 6 maybe even 8" depending on static load.

Do you also have your passive intakes open?

I have one bottom vent open and that’s it. I also have a 6 inch exhaust and within two minutes my humidity went from 55% to 30% How do I prevent that from happening?

I do in my smaller tent to help control humidity and temperature but thats mostly because I havent acquired an exhaust fan for it yet I usually leave it cracked about 7-8 hrs a day

I run my room at 80 - 85 F. My rH ranges from 10% to over 80% at times. I don’t worry about low humidity. I ensure that I have good air flow and run a dehumidifier when it gets above 60%.

I have not had any difficulties doing it this way and have had reasonable success in terms of yields. :vulcan_salute: :man_mage:

Run large humidifier in lung room so that your intake air is more conditioned to rh you’re expecting to maintain.

Flexible duct eats cfm. And the length of this duct and amount of bends both multiply the negative impact of cfm. If you get rid of duct the fans will move more air.

My lung room has no impact on my tent environment. It’s between 65-70 in there with 20% humidity at all times. I run the inline fan 24/7 just to keep the environment in a good range in the tent. If I get rid of it my temperature will be outta control. My humidity spikes to near 70 when my lights turn off and I need the inline fan to keep that in check as well.

Damn that’s crazy. I try hard to avoid crazy swings in temp and humidity but damn is it hard, at least for me.

Chasing rH can be exhausting and counter productive.

Yeah you’re not kidding.

The exception to that for me is I do dome my seedlings. As soon as they are healthy and growing, I start hardening them off to whatever ambient humidity is (from 10 to 80+%).

This isn’t true but I’m only responding because you’re not the first to have this issue and it’s been solved for many.

Yeah same. As soon as I see a sprout, I buy them in their final pot. I do try to get the environment right before I take the dome off though.

That’s what it is in my lung room right now. If it had any effect then why is it so outta whack in my tent? Why humidity in my tent spike so crazy at night, but it stays between 10 and 20% in the lung room? You’d think with my lung room temp and humidity it would even out a bit and I wouldn’t have to worry about it
