Grow tent near furnace?

Hey now! I just moved into a new place and was thinking of setting my tent up in the basement near the oil tank and the burner would be about 10 or 12 feet away. It’s a pretty constant temperature so that’s a plus. Any downside?

Congrats on the new place! I would think as long as there are stable temps and no fumes/exhaust it should be just fine.

Might monitor your temps and RH for a few days?

Definitely. Won’t be setting up for a few weeks and will be monitoring conditions in the meantime.

I mean, the space is safe for humans. Maybe a slight odor of fuel occasionally when the burner ignites but like I said, it’s safe for humans.

Basement will make a excellent grow space. If you smell oil when the furnace fires off you might change the burner Nozzle Overtime the hole from wear gets bigger and allowing more fuel to flow Then it is designed to burn. Make sure to use the old nozzle numbers to put back the right Size.
Happy growing !

The key word is steady environment. So yes that’s a huge Plus. Heat for the winter is a good thing to have your tent nearby. You should be just fine

Mine sit about 2.5 feet from my furnace and have had zero issues.

@Tmac845 Follow up on nozzle I am not telling you to change it yourself , Because there is some voltage On the Electrodes that fires the furnace. Breaker would need to be turned off. so you should call a heating person if you’ve never done this before.
