Grow Tent help! 32x32x63 failed thermostat

Hi there I got some amazing seedling help from the forum. They are doing well I just transferred them to new grow tent in 5 gal bags like you guys recommended. My hardware is sort of basic I got a cheap grow tent kit. Some parts don’t match the thermostat is a piece of junk and I can’t figure out how to get it to run the fan plug into it?. As of now I have top exhaust fan and below air intake. Do I need more airflow? Ie other portable fans n such? Got fox farm with extra added perlite for aeration. 054 bloom. Using it accordingly. My best seedling got uprooted and chewed on by My cat the day the tent arrived, alas it was not to late I do a lot a plant recovery in my spare time so it seems to be perky and still alive but damaged by my cat. ( that’s the biggest sprout one in the back right) it didn’t come with carbon air intake filter is that something you’d recommend if so what’s cheap and small enough for this? Also a good cheap thermo unit for to keep the fan going but also activate it when it needs to. Thanks everyone, I’ve learned so much I hope to pass on the knowledge.

I don’t know of any benefit with a carbon air intake filter, you probably mean an activated carbon air exhaust filter. An exhaust filter greatly reduces the wonderful smell that starts in the flowering stage. You can locate the exhaust filter outside the tent to save tent space.

I have a fancy AC Infinity controller that can control the exhaust fan based on temp and humidity thresholds but I stopped bothering with it. I just have the exhaust fan set at 7 (of max 10) at the mid point of my grow. But I do check temp and humidity lights on and lights off in the tent and write them down in my log.

Congrats on the seedlings! From the info I would definitely recommend a couple oscillating fans-some can be clipped right to the tent posts. Also, that light you have, what is the wattage? Looking at it, I think it may be extremely underpowered for your space. Happy growing! :call_me_hand:t2:

Okay cool so I’ll get some more fans and yes the bulb is weird the wattage box was no checked I think like 50 or 40 I have added the 10x4 watt one since you mentioned, what do you think.i made sure the bulbs aren’t hovering over the other bulb

what type and wattage is that light. Cannabis is the most light hungry plant and I would hate for you to produce buds that do not meet your expectations due to insufficient lighting. For those 3 plants if keeping them together you will need 450w minimum.

Okay sounds good, so filter not totally necessary just wanted to prevent dust n crap getting in. it seems this cheap fan has one speed when not plugged into the cheap thermo control unit that keeps shorting out! That’s what I get for cheaping out. Anyways I think, I may end up getting a little better unit and is there any small fan model you’d recommend for what you said setting it a 7 speed that sounds good to me.

Yeah this light is sort of crap I’ve since added something I was using before. +40w
any lights you could recommend to fit in to maximize the potential growth?

The lamp is completely unmarked. The more I do the more I realize my setup is really dinky but, just trying to budget a bit.

understood and we all do what we can. Older members have seen it over and over with lighting. I will say it. If possible do not cheap out on 1 thing…the light. This is how we get bud to it’s potential, along with the other factors but lighting is #1.

Rule of thumb: LM301 diodes, 2.7 to 3.2 umols on efficiency, 150 watts per plant or 40w per sq. ft of space.

Google Lights for a 3x3 and some hits are Mars, Spider Farmer, HLG etc…
A proper light is gonna take up some head room in a 53" tent so you will need to take that into account once the stretch begins.

Nice looking sprouts :flexed_biceps: That’s a huge accomplishment in itself.
Agree with those above. A good light is THE #1 item we all need to produce decent plants. There really is no scrimping on this one. If money is tight, there are some budget brands like Viperspectra or Aglex you can pick up at a less expensive price. HLG, AC Infinity, Mars Hydro, or Spider Farmer are going to run you a bit more but all have the best high end components.
I saw you mentioned Fox Farm… But is it soil or coco? Fox Farm soil will have all the nutrients the plant needs for the first month or so.

It’s fox farm soil happy frog, um I’m liking the mars light TS1000 with the patented hood, and their clip on fans, am I going to be need to add more soil or coco brick what kind do you recommend?

Stick with what you have already used. Mixing mediums will sometimes case problems with PH.

I believe the ts1000 is only a 100w light, so I’d go much stronger if I were you. I run AC infinity lighting and love it. There is somebody on here that runs the Schlux lights and has great results but I can’t remember who.

What is a good ac infinity one? Also how long should I have the light on at this stage, with my current setup

Ionframe EVO4 would be the AC Infinity light for that size tent.

That is not a bad light on a budget. I bought 2 of them when I started growing again. They are a 150w light. I grew my first plant Godfather OG with that light in a 2x2 before I made some upgrades.

Whatever you decide on, good luck Bro!!
