What do you think about this? I came about this when I googled solo cup⌠the person left the plant in the cup when transplanting it
I think itâs silly, frankly. Best case it doesnât actively hurt the plant and saves 2 minutes for every seed you drop. The one on the right is far more likely to not drain properly, either because the weight of the cups pushes the cup down, sealing off the drainage, or one or more particles in the medium block the small holes. A few big fat slots at the base get the job done quickly and reliably. I donât know how in the world you could improve on that.
Yeah - Iâm not a fan of planting in the cup. Seems like it would restrict root growth somewhat and limited exposure to oxygen to the tap.
I just take a small drill bit and drill 9 holes in the bottoms of a clear Solo then drop it in the red Solo until I get a good amount of roots. Iâve had a problem maybe once or twice getting it out intact and just dropping it into the hole where I filled the bag around the cup itself.
After I roll the root ball in Mykos and gently mist the sides of the hole. Which I guess doesnât really matter as Iâm gonna water them in anyway.
I would think transplanting would be difficult out of the slotted cup and youâd rip a lot of roots.
That looks like a net pot for hydroponics really.
I suppose you could cut the sides and peel it like a banana.
