The one I seen was like 3-4 inches and the person used chop sticks to hold it open. Was a cleaver idea . Idk about zip ties . My clumsy hands would just gut the plant the plant haha

It happens. I’ve read a few threads where people became outraged. It was usually the people who start out with “let me tell you how to grow weed better because your way is crap.” Then they get bombarded lol

I think that’s why they used zip ties around the stalk. It was a stopper for the scalpel. I’d do the same. Like filleting a fish.

That’s what I mean is the zip ties. I’d just cut the plant with zip ties on top of cutting the stem

Yeah it happened to me when I first came aboard. I was in a good convo with someone and it shut me down.

I had to go back the next day and clarify what happens because I just couldn’t respond. I thought they may have felt like I just disregarded what they were saying.
The stem splitting seems like it could work tho. It distresses the plant. I’ve done two days of dark before harvest. It does the same thing. I just found out this week that putting ice on top of the soil works too and brings out colors.

I was told to put the ice on the soil top right before lights out on the night I start my 48 hours of darkness. I know the 48 works because the plant thinks it going into deep winter and will do everything it can to get pollenated before it dies so it’s buds get super sticky. I think the ice just reinforces tricking the plant into thinking that. I was told it brings out purple red and pink colors in the bud.

I am not 100 % sure this did anything, I plant on trying it again and have more accurate documentation down the road, but as far as the ice bath, I did it 3 times before harvest, 48 hours of darkness and the crystals just exploded, only thing is they are not amber and change the high if you ask me, to more sativa if you grew indica, I mean that is my opinion, if you got couch lock growing, ice bath reduces the couch lock if you know what I mean.
