Granddaddy purple first grow

Hi all! Been reading through loads of posts and found loads of useful info. Iv never grown before and have some granddaddy purple seedlings doing well. My problem is Iv read so much about pruning and training that I’ve gotten myself confused about what training would be best for my plants. Initially I was going to FIM and LST but then I read this isn’t advised for indica strains. Maybe LST and pruning. Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

PRO GROWING TIP: For optimal yields, try and keep your Granddaddy Purple plants exposed to temperatures between 70- and 80-degrees Fahrenheit during the day.

When growing Granddaddy Purple, moisture is the big enemy. If you’re intent on growing cannabis, you have to understand how humidity affects your plants. Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air, and is expressed as a percentage. The higher the humidity, the fewer nutrients your weed is able to absorb. If it becomes too high, the plant’s stomata will close, which means it won’t absorb any water.

I would run your humidity around 40 % for them.

Welcome to the forum! If this is your first grow, I would limit your training to some mild bending. Get yourself an idea of how the plants grow by themselves and then apply the knowledge you gain to your next grow.

I’ve had several grows of ilgm grandaddy purple.
I found it responded well to all training. I’ve topped, fimmed, bent, supercropped and grown it in a Scrog.
Since it is indica, humidity should be kept low in flower. Definitely 30%-40% for the last month of flowering. I let the humidity rise on my first grow and had some bud rot.
It’s a pretty flower and the taste and smell is fantastic.

Thanks all! I planted my seeds 8 days ago and they spotted on day 5. I would love to fim but I’m off on holiday for a fortnight on the 6th May so I really need to have at the very least harvested by then. They’re not auto’s just feminised so also don’t want to slow any growth in veg

how are they doing so far?

Il take a pic in the morning when I can sit them in sunshine, they look ok I think, cat got to one of them and chewed a leaf off today  I’m waiting on some better lighting coming this week then I’m hoping they’ll flourish.

Nice nice! Can’t wait to see the updates as you go forward!

My PH is off am I ok to add a few drops of lemon juice to my water? Planning on re-potting this weekend hoping in the canna professional plus soil and 5 gallon fabric pots under their new MH light they’ll flourish. :crossed_fingers:t2:
