I am currently germinating ten GG autoflower seeds for an indoor grow that I set up in an unused half bath room. I’m a first time grower and could use any advice there is to give.

Fill this out and be as specific as possible. If soil please say WHAT soil. If in pots, say WHAT size etc. What specific light, tent, nutrients, temps, RH etc.

GG autoflower seeds from ilgm
Soil, seedling mix by black and gold right now but looking for advice on what to transplant to.
Indoor grow
4ft.4bulb t5 three of the four bulbs are F54t5/go/835 3k4 and the other one is t5 54w 6400 k (has blue tint)
Temperature is currently between 78 degrees Fahrenheit
As far as ventilation system it’s an old bathroom and has a window fans I guess
Plan to move to 3-5 gallon pots
No co2
No dehumidifier or humidifier atm
So what I am doing is converting a half bathroom into a grow room The room itself is 6and a half ft by 5ft wide by 7ft tall the toilet has been removed but the sink is still there very small works but do not plan to use as the water is extremely hard. The room does also have a normal size window I(guess) at one end of the room, I have completely covered the room with aluminum foil as well. I have hung the light up so that it is very easily moved up and down. I’m just looking for any advice in general I guess at this point as I await the germination, as I said I am a first time grower and don’t know a whole lot.
I would install a reverse osmosis filter to the bathroom sink. It’s will help with water quality and you won’t have to carry your water as far

Also I wouldn’t recommend aluminium foil. It actually absorbs light. Use mylar or this

Any tap roots yet?
Well actually on the whole germination part of it didn’t go so well…to begin with I went with ilgm’s recommendation and submerged the seeds in water and after 4 day’s they were not doing really anything, All but one did start to crack open but that’s as far as they went so I decided to instead take them out and put them in a paper towel, so I put All but four in the paper towel and the other 4 that were looking the best I put in dirt as suggested, The very next day the one’s in the paper towel had first set of leaves and were beginning to green,the one’s in the dirt after two days only one broke dirt,so I decided to dig them up and see what they were doing, nothing at all so they were put in paper towel now and the other 6 are planted as of yesterday and All looking good so far, so as long as the other three end up okay there was one bad seed in the ten I got.

Okay everyone just an update on how things are going, I will be heading to the hydroponics store in a few minutes to get Mylar/ potting soil (ADVICE ON SOIL TO TRANSPLANT TO PLEASE?) And maybe some other things that I may need suggestions greatly appreciated. But as of now the girl’s I have going that have made it so far are@day 5 and looking good I think. As I said I know I’m probably lacking in some areas and could really use the help! Money is not too much an issue as of now and this is how it looks. like I said I plan on getting Mylar and soil today and I am not worried about nutes because I was given a bunch of stuff (I’ll list later on) being I don’t need it for a while anyway. One of the main things I worry about is bringing bug’s via dirt into my grow room… I’m battling aphids on outside plants now
Good soil is a mix of many things including living things.
Its next to impossible to keep bugs out.
Just be diligent when inspecting and treat quickly when you find them. And find them you will.
That’s not really what I meant… I know that some bugs are good for the soil I meant the kinds you don’t want in the grow room. But I probably worry too much about things I shouldn’t. I’m just New and nervous LoL
Any good soil producer will take steps to reduce the possibility of those bugs.
But some of those eggs and bugs are so small its always going to be possible to get them even in a premium soil.
The bags are usually vented and even during transport bugs can enter the bagged soil.
Diatomatious earth on the surface will help prevent any in the soil from getting to the plant.

Question for you…you say that you use the ocean Forest, do you add anything to it at all or just go with that?
Last grow I started in solo cup with seedling mix and transplanted into ocean forest.
