The picture sucks but I’ll be posting plenty more as I go along. I’m using a 900 watt led. Growing in soil using root organics nutrients.
I’m planning to Scrog and figure I will be setting up a screen in about 4 weeks. Taken about a week for my clones to kick back into veg. Is this about normal?
This run is gonna be one of trial and error but hopefully I will learn a lot more about what I’m doing correct and what I’m doing wrong.

Your light there pulls about 220 watts from wall and looks to be advertised for a 2.5’x1.5” area at 24” and around 400 umols. How big is your tent? I suspect you’ll be a little underpowered to get the most out of your grow.
4x2x5 is the size of tent. Yeah it might be a bit undersized. Might throw a couple more small lights for flowering. Any recommendations?? Something relatively cheap for this first run would be ideal. I still haven’t got my carbon filter or inline yet but will by the time I flip them.
In the spring I’m gonna make a grow in my attic… two rooms. Switch to hydro when I go in those rooms as well. I will also get better lights at that time too. Gonna make a legit business out of it by then.
I’m thinking of staying led… this past year has been crazy for me… had a child and lost my dream job to a devestating fire… I’m deathly afraid of fire hence the led lights that don’t have nearly the same output of heat. I’m sure I would be fine running the other lights. I just wouldn’t be able to sleep or leave my girl and son home alone with it. I’m thinking maybe adding a couple 2-300 watts for around the 900. Not sure if there is any advantages to using led in veg or flower.
It really depends on the particular led package. High performance leds are going to run you high $. If you’re looking at budget fixtures from amazon or eBay, you have to be very careful believing what you read. You’re usually going to get what you pay for to an extent, some are a better value than others.
I build all of my led fixtures, not sure if you feel that’s an option or not? But you can save a boatload if money getting into the higher end high efficiency leds. Some are available in kits with assembly instructions if that sounds more appealing. Otherwise, I would probably recommend a couple of quantum boards or cob bar of 2-300 Watts. It’s easy to add additional fixtures later if you get to a bigger space. They’re going to cost quite a bit more, but will also open up the potential of your grows a lot too.

@Doughbreezy207 Looks good . I have 4 plants in a 2x4x5 scrog and I got a feeling it’s going to get real tight inside . I add a second light and they are growing really well because of it . I’m in the second week of flower and the buds are popping everywhere . Search [ is my scrog ready ] to check it out . The 2nd light also added more heat to the tent so the fan is a must have . The average 4” fan/filter combos should do. You’ll want a speed controller if you don’t already have one. I usually buy can or phresh filters, but most of the members seem to have good luck with less expensive models.
Before you go through with spending any money on co2, I would look for the scientific studies that state the amount of light required to use all of the co2 available in ambient air.
Co2 can be an awesome tool. Along with light and water, they’re the required elements for photosynthetic activity. I think ambient air levels are pushing 400ppm. Which should be enough that it would take par levels of almost 1200 umols to use it all. Even with three of your current fixtures in a 2x4, you’re not going to reach those levels.
On top of that, to use co2 properly it generally has to be in a sealed room. Which is an entirely different project starting up. In my opinion, adding co2 won’t help you much if at all.
great insight thank you… how big should each square in my scrog be? I ordered one on amazon and it looks too big… think each square is about 6" what is an ideal size. I will just make my own with some garden string.
