My first grow with photoperiod plants, gold leaf feminized seeds from this website.
Here’s my dilemma, still seeing mostly clear trichomes but no white hairs on the buds. I’ve been watering with straight RO water last four days. Most fan leaves are dying.
My microscope is not USB so can’t take pics of trichomes**. Do you all think based on buds they are ready?**
Last watering, runoff PH’s around 6.4 and PPMs between 600 and 800 still.
Is that 70 days in flower or since sprout? Id wait until you see some amber trichs before chopping. Harvesting too early will give you a paranoid, racey feeling. Buds look great, you did a wonderful job, just a little bit longer yet.
Sometimes the lighting you are looking at the trichomes under can make them look clear when they are actually cloudy. I suggest, if possible, looking at them with indirect light. Like in a room that is bright but not in direct sunlight of right under a bulb/led. It can give you a better view on the trichs. If thats not possible where she sits, then snip a small sample from a bud and take it to another room. You will see a different perspective this way. It still may be clear but you will see what I mean about a truer picture of their state.
Gents, finally received a working microscope so I could take some photos. I’m really thinking of cutting down the plants, since it doesn’t seem to be changing physically and the Trichomes are not really getting much milkier.
Here are some shots, see how lot are still clear but looking at buds with naked eye they look done (orange hairs recessed)
What do you think? harvest or keep feeding RO only water? 74 days since change to 12/12 NOT from first sign of flower BTW.
Thats why its called “Gold” leaf. Those fan leaves turn yellow towards the end. and fall off. Its actually expected on that strain. Unless you have a need for the space, or to move on, waiting for the clear trichs to turn milky would be best. Its not unusual for them to stall out and it take longer than expected to ripen. We all have had plants do that. In fact most go longer than the “Estimated” flowering time. Plant still looks good and wont be ruined at all by waiting longer. I have a leftover Cement Shoes strain that I harvested and put back in the mother plant cabinet two months ago and the leftover trichomes are still not amber. It just doesnt happen very fast.
