I’m sorry to jump into your journal, my apologies in advance. I’m not the most experienced grower, but I’ve had purple stripes on every plant I’ve grown( point of clarity, I’ve only grown 3, on my 4thnow) I’ve been told by a few of the pros on this site it’s nothing to worry about, certainly not a deficiency sign by itself anyway. Admittedly I probably don’t know what I’m talking about . I’m not saying your wrong, just that I’ve heard differently.
I’ve had purple on all the blue dream autos in soil but I know there is something going on with this in coco. I’ve got some top dress roots organic. Reckon I can dilute that or us as top dress @KeystoneCops
Momma says they got all those teeth and no toothbrush.
Hey, sorry mad tired right now but I see you tagged me.
Is there a question?
The plants don’t look perfect but they look okay.
Full feed coco every time unless flushing, always to 20% run off.
Why autos? Why not photos? Just curious
That’s not entirely true @BetrayedSoul I have grown plenty that were super healthy and had some purple stems. There are variations in nature same applies to cannabis.
Got me some Durban Poison now. Have one in veg till these finish.
I just wanted to try this out. Started really small, micro tent with a mars 600.
After all the donations I’m in a 2x4 with a Hlg 320w.
Hey Woodrow, don’t know what to tell you, but I hope your girls are fine.
New to coco but I think the guys up there got me straightened out
Well, let me explain and see if this makes sense.
In soil, I always bottom feed a water soluble dry organic mix.
In coco, I read top feed till runoff. I water from garden bucket, the one with the neck and little shower head. Tonight, Went to fill bucket and seen all this white sand looking stuff. Never rinse the bucket out. Is that the build up of left over nutes?
Probably. You should clean out your nutrient systems as often as possible, and use that waste on houseplants if you can.
I mix in a 5 gallon bucket, 2.5 in a.m and 2.5 in p.m, my bucket is red and I too have those same dots, if I don’t rinse it out well, between a.m and p.m feeds. The nutes are salts that dissolve in water it’s just like if the ocean water was to evaporate in a bucket… you’d see the salt.
I have a shelf rack above another 5 gallon bucket and when plants are smaller and easily managed, I put them on that and feed from a solo cup out of the nute bucket.
The run off falls into the runoff bucket, and then I either get lazy and leave to build up for the outdoor plants(non cannabis) or if they are okay for a few days I dump the runoff out.
Buckets get very cleaned with the hottest water and my “Jack’s scrubby” (just a kitchen scrubber pad) that’s been used in Jack’s since I opened it… don’t take on from the kitchen sink soap mold etc. Brand new for the grow only purpose.
I collected a few good articles about growing in coco when I first started. Cocoforcannabis is a great resource site

I’m so done with this place. You and your false truths can ki(^#*@^@%%-&@@&#:#^-&’
You ok @BetrayedSoul
If you have ever read Kurt Vonnegut this quote will be familiar.
I always think of it when we disagree about things and both of think we are right.
“Just imagine that your Daddy is the smartest man who ever lived on Earth, and he knows everything there is to find out, and he is exactly right about everything, and he can prove he is right about everything. Now imagine another little child on some nice world a million light years away, and that little child’s Daddy is the smartest man who ever lived on that nice world so far away. And he is just as smart and just as right as your Daddy is. Both Daddies are smart, and both Daddies are right.
Only if they ever met each other they would get into a terrible argument, because they wouldn’t agree on anything. Now, you can say that your Daddy is right and the other little child’s Daddy is wrong, but the Universe is an awfully big place. There is room enough for an awful lot of people to be right about things and still not agree.
The reason both Daddies can be right and still get into terrible fights is because there are so many different ways of being right. There are places in the Universe, though, where each Daddy could finally catch on to what the other Daddy was talking about. These places are where all the different kinds of truths fit together as nicely as the parts in your Daddy’s solar watch. We call these places chronosynclastic infundibula.
The Solar System seems to be full of chronosynclastic infundibula. There is one great big one we are sure of that likes to stay between Earth and Mars. We know about that one only because an Earth man and his Earth dog ran right into it.
You might think it would be nice to go to a chronosynclastic infundibulum and see all the different ways to be absolutely right, but it is a very dangerous thing to do. The poor man and his poor dog are scattered far and wide, not just through space, but through time, too.
Chrono (kroh-no) means time. Synclastic (sin-classtick) means curved towards the same side in all directions, like the skin of an orange. Infundibulum (in-fun-dib-u-lum) is what the ancient Romans like Julius Caesar and Nero called a funnel. If you don’t know what a funnel is, get Mommy to show you one.

That escalated horribly… woosaa man. Its alright to agree to disagree sometimes
I disagree with that statement
Lol jk
