Leaf envy? Looks great. How much direct sunlight do they get?

They get a mix behind my garage and the house to the side I grew last year in the same location and they got real tall and bushy these just seem a little spindly

My only non-traffic-visible yard plants only get less than 3 hours direct.
Neighbors have hot tub and fence is only 6 ft. But they grow and no electricity required.

Either you have very tiny hands or thats the biggest fan leaf I’ve ever seen. Holy moly

My fan leaves get really big as well, the weight of the leaves will help grow your branches and stems bigger as it develops. It’s kinda the theory of weight lifting, as the wind blows the heavy leaves help create thicker branches. I’ve also heard the sunlight really helps especially now during the summer. I live in Hawaii so I get quite a bit of sunlight (I have an outdoor greenhouse) throughout the year. Happy Growing!!
