I have been trying to start a grow with Durban Poison Seeds. After putting in water per instructions, two of six “grew tails”. I planted all of them all in Coast of Main, organic potting blend.
The 2 shot up to several inches, then fell over dead. The other 4 did nothing.
This picture is number 7, and I am hoping t does not fall over. Am I doing something wrong?
Seedlings don’t need much water they may be drowning. I just spray water into a solo cup and place it over my seedlings. I’ve not used that brand of soil but from what I’ve read it’s good. I’ve had germination problems getting beans to pop but haven’t had them die afterwards.
I agree with 4204. I am no expert but peat pots have killed seedlings on me. They really hold water and I am notorious for over watering. I’ve been able to use them but really have to monitor my watering. Good luck!!
What blend of C O M soil is it? I recommend starting seeds in an organic seed soil. Some potting soils can be too hot for a seedling. I’ve used several brands of seedling soils. I really like Black Gold seed soil.
When you water, just water the outer edge of soil, near the containers edge. Dont water at the seedlings base. Water just enough to keep soil moist. Some people dome the seedlings to keep humidity high. I don’t because my tent humidity is high. What type of light are you using?
My question too. Maybe you put the plant in the window for the photo, but window light is not enough to grow a plant and a seedling will just stretch out like the one in the pic and keep stretching until is falls over and dies. They need light and a lot of it.
