General Hydroponics Series Enough?

I recently started feeding my plants which are 3 weeks since popping out of the ground roughly. I’ve just been using GH 3 past series- Grow, micro, and bloom, along with calmag, as well as PHing to 6-6.5. Growing in coco and perlite. I wanted to know- is this enough to yield decent results? All of the sudden I’m reading mixed reviews on this series of nutrients, and I’m also reading about other supplements like root supplements, etc… does anyone else use such supplements and can attest to whether they make that much of a difference? So I guess my main question is will what I’m using be enough, and should I grab some other supplements?

I use living soil now but a supplement I have always used is a silica. I typically use silica blast. Especially in flower. Trichs are silica based and the extra silica WILL show itself in more trichome production. Just what I have experienced. Following any nute lines base directions typically produces well with small adjustments as needed. Just my thoughts on this. Happy growing.

GH makes a fine line of nutrients; you can use all of them or just the base nutes. I did not see any appreciable difference between running the full line vs. base nutes only. I would also suggest adding silica.

I was under the impression that in straight coco you want to ph as if you are in hydro. Ive not used just coco but thats what I have read. That being said… seems 5.8-6 is more your target.

Good advice. When you do get your hands on some. Make sure you mix it into your water 1st, before anything else. Mix well and allow 15-20 mins for it to bond with the water. Then mix in tye rest of your ingredients in the order they are ment to be mixed. Personally I would mix calmag in after silica bonds, then nutes.

This will always be the way of it. Some grow styles work for some and just dont work for others. Can be anything from water to soil makeup…

Yes, what you are using is enough AND yes you should grab some other suplements… for your next grow. Dont take on a bunch of stuff as you go through your firsr grow, and I wouldnt suggest adding more then 1 or 2 “new” things to your next. Build into it. It will help you grow better and better. You will be able to read the plant better too. Now I can see when flowering begins before she ever shows her first bud. The demeanor of the plant changes. You’ll see.

As for which, thats kinda a loaded question because like I said above. Different for each growstyle. Look into Mycorhyzae products like Mykos or Great White Shark. Look into different bacteria products like AZOS or Tribus. To start. TBH id look more into training techniques then I would be for products to add.

Learning more and more every day. Thanks so much. Well that works just fine for me cuz my well water is naturally like 5.8-6.0.

Absolutely :+1:
Infact, wuth the GH trio you dont even need the cal-mag most often.
The brown bottle is 5% calcium.
Magnesium is not kinda low so it’s good to have some on hand incase Magnesium deficiency pops up.

But I use GH exclusively. Ive used aot of the trio and lately i been useing GH 1 part Maxi series.
I use a little cal-mag sometimes but no other addictives at all.
Here my current grow useing just GH Maxi-gro fir veg and Maxi-bloom for bloom, h2o2, and a little cal-mag sometimes.

Theres past grow journals under my profile if you want to see other plants grew with nothing but GH.

As others have said, ph coco-coir at 5.8 is best :+1:
Supplements are most often a waist of money, silica is good but not necessary, I would advice a root inoculant like H2O2 or hydrogaurd but its not necessary either really if you water by hand but there is dome good benefits to H2O2 in you nutrient solution :+1:

Sure u got grewt info…but im doing GH too. Ive broken each phase into 2 week parameters, really listening to them, and…ill tell ya…this is a game chamgerr… i do silicia wait 10, do calmag for 10g (40ml±) then do micro (75ml±) stir, add bloom (100ml±) and heaping flowerr fuel, then (20ml ±)flora. Stir. Add luquid karma half stretgtg. Tweek a bit of micros, rare, Ec always 1.9 to 2.2. Given up on ppm. Uswlesss…Will guide ph buy learning theses wass game chamging. And invaluable, without devience could even show yiur mom… laughing joke.

…depending on current deviationsand utilization of addititve nutes and past historys mysterys…i concur i am a dork and no, its hard to not miss a beat.

Perfect PH for coco, I would check after mixing nutrients…the PH typical drops after mixing :love_you_gesture:

So the ph of the water will change when nutrients are added.
Keep that in mind @MDGrower , the well water may start at 5.8-6ph but once you start adding nutrients to it, it will go down, or this has always been the case for me.

I also only use GH products, except for Hydrogaurd, silica.
One tent has GH 3s, the other tent has GH FloraNova 1 part.
I grow hydro, ebb & Flow, 15 minutes flood every 2 hours. I’m in 6”x6” Rockwell cubes with clay pebbles around the Rockwell to hold it in place.
I have 6 plants In a 10x10 tent, each plant has its own light, a Bestva 450w, I know it’s overkill, but I started with 200w lights and can’t believe the difference.
Thanks to this forum and the people here, I’ve learned so much, people like @Myfriendis410 @ThatHydroCouple @StonedCold13 @Docnraq @OGIncognito and so many more.
Here are some pics of my current grow, using GH 3 part

And this one, in the same tent is under a Green Beams 480w light.
All are day 13 after flip to 12/12, and nutrient change, I’ve noticed the stretch is about done and I’m seeing the start of the hairs.

Welcome to the forum, and these guys will give you some excellent advice.

Hey @MDGrower your on a good track for some nice buds. I’d stick with the GH Flora line and look at the Professional 10 part feeding guide. I use this plus Hydroguard for my DWC grow.
