i planted 6 seeds at same time in premium potting mix in the ground with slow release pellets and only 2 have survived, it has been about 5months and they dont look normal, i water them about every 3-4 days. they get over 8hrs of sun, have given them liquid fertilizer every month, winter started 16 days ago. you can see the different sizes of the 2 that survived. i dont know what is wrong. please, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the community ! don’t get frustrated every grow will get better. I will start by saying Next grow go with a cannabis-friendly soil. Stay away from the soil what time release pellets. Good luck moving forward
Welcome to the forum @Bigdaza
As @kellydans mentioned you need to use anMJ friendly soil and nutrients. You’ll find issues with potting mix and time released nutrients.
i had ordered seeds twice through ILGM but both times they were stopped at australian customs, i was just lucky that a neighbour who has now moved town gave me 6 seeds so this will be my 1 and only opportunity to grow. that is why im trying to get a good result this time.
Watering often will also help balance ph, as well as steady growth.
Let’s tag in @Budz420 he will be familiar with products available in your area. Happy growing my friend !
unfortunately the australian government still .sees thc cannibus as illegal and when i ordered those seeds from ILGM i had a police task force come to my house to do a search as they thought i was a big time growers. i never got the opportunity to even get the seeds as they were confiscated at aust customs border yet theyre giving out licenses for large companies to grow medicinal marijuana. i have chronic pain from osteo-arthritis and sleep problems.and the only thing i found that helped was pot.i only grew those seeds i got from my neighbour just for myself.
Soil sound like the issue , welcome and good luck, first grow ? Grow indoors only outdoor?
if theres anyway to purchase seeds within australia, that would be great, i sent an email to Robert Bergman and told him about my ailments and he suggested to get seeds called purple kush, not sure what that is but seeing that he is an authoritive person. im thinking it must be a bramd type of marijuana, im 54 and never have use pot before but tried some at a party back in november last year and it helped greatly with my pain and sleep.
Good grief. That is unbelievable. I thought the state I live in the USA is bad.
i started by putting seeds in seed potting mix in a plant container and when the seedling was about 8-10 cms i put into ground? the smaller plant is about 18 cms and the large 1 is about 60 cms. if these 2 both die then thats it. i will have no access to anymore seeds as if i try to go through ILGM again i will waste money because the customs border officers will confiscate them again because of new electronic scanning machinery they have to scan anything(mail and parcels) coming into australia unfortunately. 1 day it will be legal to grow here but i fear it will be to late for me as my health conditions will just get worse every year. worse diagnoses being early onset of dementia then chronic osteo-arthritis and cancer.
they wouldve only came because of the seeds i ordered from ILGM which were confiscated at Australian customs border control.
That’s crazy. Its federally illegal in the US and seeds been no problem here for many many years. Have you considered contacting ILGM and asking for a more stealthy delivery? Do you know anyone in another country who would be willing to recieve your seeds then mail them to you in a simple care package? Surely you can’t be the only person in Australia who has ever tried to order seeds, you smoked weed back a couple months ago, that weed had to be grown by someone, which means seeds CAN be delivered to Australia.
Once you get your seeds, don’t plant until you have connected with someone who has or is growing in your type of environment to help you. Environment is everything when it comes to weed, planting outside too early or too late Nd you will get sub par results… it seems since you planted even though the task force showed up at your door, your not too concerned about them, keep ordering seeds. Make sure you pay for secured or guaranteed delivery, can’t catch em all.
Wasted money?
Did ILGM not refund you since they can’t send seeds?
They boast as Australian seed mailing experts. I would ask for my money back. If you don’t get a refund or seeds, come back to the boards and get help from staff in ILGM support section.
There are lotsa places to order from, lotsa ways to order. Try one that doesn’t use the standard mail, get one that is delivered by a private company. People send drugs through the mail all over the world. Remember the silk road?
If you contact the support group with ILGM I’m pretty sure they will send you more Seeds if they have been confiscated by customs.
@anon33684698 and @Enlightened420 can either of you give any insight on how you get your seeds down under?
I’m Australian - got my first order from ILGM in 2020 with no issues. Last order was from Coffee Shop seeds in UK (early 2021) after seeing them recommended to NZ members on here. Seeds came in a toy construction set for kids.
Same as Baz, I got my first order through ILGM Australia…
Which isn’t operating at the moment.
Hi and welcome to the forum @Bigdaza
And nice to meet another fellow Aussie. What state are you in?
Oh wow a police task force turning up on your doorstep!? I’d be thrown in jail for sure with the amount of weed I have in this house!
I do know the ILGM has had to stop Aussie orders for the moment. I’m OK for the time being but I’ll be screwed if they can’t get it back up and running again in the medium-term.
As @AfgVet and others have mentioned, you’ve done what so many of us have done and assumed you can treat this plant like any other garden plant and get great yields, which unfortunately isn’t the case. I’m not too familiar with growing in the ground, but I’ll bet that your tap water you’re hosing with isn’t within a good pH range, and that your plant isn’t loving the nutes you’re giving her.
I’ll jump onto watching to see if I can be of any further assistance
Nice to meet you as well @Baz4
@anon33684698 - we “met” awhile ago, but you probably have forgotten as I’m more of a lurker and knowledge-sponge than a poster/commenter.
