Someone gave me 8 Auto seeds (6 fruit punch and 2 surpise IDK what they are autos) and a 600W LED light, Ive been busy with work so my grow room has been sitting empty until 3 days ago. I said I would never grow Autos since my last grow was a disaster with surprise Autos in the mix, the only good thing about that was I had smoke sooner than later so all was not lost but I didn’t know not to trim them til it was too late, I also didn’t know I didn’t need to flip the light schedule and I didn’t need to worry so much about nutes. Like I mentioned above, this current grow is Autos but this time I know they are Autos so Im ok with that. Here goes nothing…
Lights
I have 5 LED lights, my grow room is like 12x10 give or take. I have 2 300W King LED, 2 400W not sure what brand that is off hand and 1 600W LED again don’t know the brand of that. I have them staggered, with the 600W in the middle and then 2 on each side.
Pots and growing medium
4 gallon pots with “Just Natural” organic potting soil with worm castings AND I mixed the soil with perlite (I used a bunch since I was afraid the soil might be heavy)
The Start 7/8/17
So this past Saturday at 7pm I put the seeds in peroxide while I got all the pots read. After all the pots were filled with soil, I wet the dirt and sprinkled the soil with Great White Mico, put a seed in each pot, covered the pots with cling wrap, turned all the lights on 24hr and closed the door. Room temp is 78 - 82F with humidity at 42- 51% (during the day its 80 with 51% and at night, and currently its 78 with 42% humidity. Central air is running since where I live its like 80-90 with horrible humidity these days.
When I got home tonight to look at my girls, I SAW LITTLE LEAVES, all but 1 have popped out, it looks a little hump in the pot but without removing the cling wrap I cant be positive that its not a piece of perlite LOL.
I don’t know the lingo but on some of them have 4 leaves, some only have 2 little leaves, I never payed attention before and this is the second time Ive done the cling wrap germination, does anyone who is reading this know how long do I keep the cling wrap on? lol oh and I have the lights 24 inches from the top of the pots.
When should I turn on the fans?
Is my room too hot?
I read a bunch of blurbs on light schedule, some say 18/6 and some say 20/4 for autos and I could do that from start to finish, do I split the difference and do 19 on 5 off?
Should I change the lights now and not have them on 24hrs?
I also read that with Autos, a 3 gallon pot is sufficient to grow them in, if that’s the case, does anyone know how many I can grow with the lights that I have in the space that I have, AND to still have the room to walk around (12x10 room)
I also read that I shouldn’t do anything tricky to the girls as in, cutting off the tops, knuckling and whatever experiment I might try. I should just let them grow and I could spread the branches to get more light in the middle?
Also that I don’t have to add nutes for like 3 weeks? this sounds way to easy and I know Ive got to read up on this as ive never grown autos with the exception of my last grow when I had autos accidently in my grow that someone ordered and didn’t check with me to see what I already ordered, when I started the grow is when I found autos and 3 boys (which were found in a bag so I wasn’t sure what they were anyways) which left me with 6 Purple Kush and 3 Grizzly Purple Kush, which grew to taste so amazing and have served me well the last couple months. Back to the lighting, if the lighting schedule stays on 18/6 or 20/4 or my theory 19/5, from germination to cut down, I can throw seeds in at anytime, I don’t need to wait til this grow is over, correct?
I for sure need help even tho I have been growing for a few years now, never Auto so I feel like a dumb ass, even tho I know everyone will help, I love this group.

You can start whit 20/4 and you can turn on a fan but be careful to not break them… Just a breeze in your room…

Here are my Blueberry Autos. They will be a month old from sprout tomorrow. They have been on a 16/8 light schedule since day 2. Autos don’t HAVE TWO BE on a long dark light schedule, but everything needs rest. All the growth on my plants happen when the lights are out. I see a noticeable difference in growth every time the lights come back on.
The first two pictures are of my larger one. She was topped one week ago today, and has exploded in growth the last week. The one in the last picture sprouted the same day as the first one and has been slower growing. I just topped her last night when her 6th set of true leaves came in.
Just wanted to show you what a longer dark period and topping can do for autos.

awww i love that. My man calls me that because I tend to doodle on ANYTHING in front of me when Im on the phone and back when we first met, I was front desk and he was head of maintenance, I would hand everyone messages with all these doodles on them, he started calling me doodlebug, we started dating and it sort of stuck. thats been 22 yrs now
oh wow thanks for that. Can you use the 16/8 schedule from start to finish? im trying to figure a light schedule that I can use from start to finish, so I can pop in seeds whenever I want. What size pot are you using?

You could go 18/6 the whole grow. I will go 12/12 when they start to flower, if for nothing else just to save on the electric bill.
They are in three gallon pots.
they are in 4 gallon pots but I am thinking ahead for the next grow and 3 yrs ago I was growing in 5 gallon buckets, 10 plants, they were mongsters lol but things changed and ive had my MIL living with us for the last 3 yrs, she has the Mentia and the Altz, with a touch of MS. things have changed and she moved to my SIL in MD so we are trying to get back to normal, sorry I just smoked and im a bit chatty LOL.Anyway I am thinking 3 gallon pots and lots of them but if I can stay on the 18/6 from start to finish I will order seeds and just pop them into 3 gallon pots, then just keep on, I should have a constant supply of nugs, and I can use it to barter LOL. I am going to check on the site here to get seeds very soon.
3 gallon pots are fine for autos because of the shorter veg. time before they start to flower. They don’t develop as much root growth as photos, which need the 5 gallon pots.
I realize it has nothing to do with my grow but it’s my outside grow and isn’t that the most beautiful cucumber you’ve ever seen.

Thank you, I do try to atleast keep my room clean, I just told my man we had to turn on the filter, it got way to hot in there today and that hot air needs to go somewhere right. This is the only room in the house that my dogs are not allowed in.
Day 9, the first 2 pics should be of 1 of my lights and the height of this light from inside the pot to the bottom of the light. Did I read something about lights being to close could cause whitening of leaves? The next 4 pics should be of 4 babies under said light as you see the leaves are lightening. all good, ive been busy myself, um I don’t think they look good at all. I cant take a pic at the moment but before the weekend ends, I will. its been a month now and they aren’t any taller than my pinky. I wasn’t sure what the nutes schedule was for autos so I just gave them water BUT this past Monday I gave them all Cal Mag and some hard water additive from Flora, they perked up and actually started growing but now I am worried they are stunted and I am not sure what to do about Nutes for my girls. I am still unsure of the amount of water to give everyone, when I try a small amount, it doesn’t seem enough and they don’t drain, so I went back to what I did before, I gave everyone 1/2 gal of water each. It took them all week to dry out. they are in 4 gallon pots. Problem is I don’t know what stage the girls are in, not knowing all the lingo makes it difficult for me. @Countryboyjvd1971
