Foxfarm soils Slurry test

Wanted to test a theory. Glad i did. Ocean Forest should be slurry tested before use. 5.2 ph using filtered tap at 7.6. Let sit for 48 hours. I will start this process now with every bag.

Very interesting! Iv never had accurate results with organic soils.

Can you hit it with a TDS? I’d bet it’s 4,000.

I wonder, if the ph is showing so low because of the breakdown of organic matter is causing co2 but contained in a bag and has no where to off gas?
I remember years years ago I did aquascaping in fish tanks With c02 injection and it’s not recommend for fish or anything living other than plants because the c02 would cause huge PH fluctuations. The fish were a lot more sensitive to this than plants.

Distilled water is a more accurate source for slurry testing but the FF mediums have been troublesome for a lot of growers the last few years :love_you_gesture:

It is good to test soil’s ph & ppm before using it. When I used soil I slurry tested the mix using distilled or RO water.

I had both distilled and RO as an option. Do you think it would have been lower? Ive seen many posts recently about this so wanted to check. I want to document this and send a letter with pics to Foxfarm and see what they say. I thought i saw the pH on the bag but this one doesnt say it. I swore i saw it, maybe on their website.
