This is a better line of nutrients IMO but not the cheapest: Jack’s 3-2-1 program is my go to and along with many others. Very user-friendly, doesn’t need flushing, you can use it from first feeding to harvest. Very economical. That and some Epsom salts and Silica is all you need.

My current plant: Jack’s with silica, Autopots, coco/perlite, week six of flower

The system is gravity fed from a reservoir to trays that have a float that auto fills the tray the pot or fabric bag sits in as the level goes down. I have the plastic pots and fabric bags and recommend the fabric bags :love_you_gesture:

i have been admiring autopots from afar for a while. i’ve done several grows using high freq fert in coco and general hydro by hand. I’m wanting to plan a future grow using some automation like an autopot? would love to talk specifics via direct messaging with some of you guys that have had great success with these systems.

Game changer for me and started using them 4 years ago. Very little maintenance needed with occasionally checking the res PH and routine plant grooming. I got my set up from autopotusa dot com. I use a 13 gallon trash can as the res and buy miscellaneous fittings and parts to use for different set ups and layouts of the pots. I work out of town Mon-Fri and couldn’t grow without these :love_you_gesture:

How old does the plant have to be before benefiting from the reservoir

I generally start seedlings in a solo cup and transplant to fabric bags or the auto pots around day 14-17 and top feed for the the first 2 weeks to establish the roots for bottom wicking supplied by the auto trays. After the 2 weeks I use the reservoir until harvest :love_you_gesture:

Also, using auto pots and jacks. Do I add in the watering amounts aside from the nutrients? Like 2.5/gal+teas/gal=2gal do I add any just regular water for regular watering or just add nutrients schedule wayer

If your medium is coco and what I recommend over soil it’s daily top feeding from sprout through the 2 weeks after transplant. You mix your nutrients and add that to the res when it’s ready to run the system. Soil needs a dry cycle and doesn’t work that well in autopots. Coco should remain damp at a minimum if not feeding daily :love_you_gesture:

Ok so. After it’s big enough to hook up the reservoir I still water it through top? Sorry little confused if you could elaborate and yes I use coco and perlite and have a airdome

So using coco you never just water without nutes anyway?

No, the autopots and res take care of the feeding until you harvest. The reason for top feeding the 1st two weeks is to get the roots growing to the point that they spread out and start feeding from the nutrients supplied by the bottom wicking auto trays :love_you_gesture:

Okay thank you so much I got that part now I guess what I was wondering is when growing in coco it never just gets water alone right? Because in some soil you can just water sometimes and nutes others

Yes coco is free of nutrients unlike amended soils. I’ll mix Jacks to 800 PPMs at a PH of 5.8 and saturate the coco and drop my germinated seed in a solo cup. This is the only time I use straight water and give 2 ounces every 2-3 days but keep the humidity around 70% and mist the leaves daily as well as mist the top of the coco. At transplant I top feed every other day and increase the amount due to the vessel size :love_you_gesture:

Jacks part B has calcium in it. Is it beneficial to add Epsom as well? I didn’t use silica on my last go at it, but definitely adding that to my nutes for the next grow.

Got silica waiting on salt. Is it every feeding/reservoir or bi weekly or?

Answered my question perfectly. And future questions. Gods work my friend :handshake::pray:
