For the Shroomers that grows from spore in spawn bag

So I started on a grow but this one isn’t cannabis it is more in fact golden teacher mushroom grow. First time growing them ever. Don’t know if anyone on here grows mushrooms but worth a shot. My golden teacher grow is colonizing it has shown signs of mycelium growth. The thing is after it’s 100 percent colonized will CFL bulbs be okay to use to have them start pinning or can I use my 600 watt mh light I use to grow cannabis strains?? If so how high does light need to be is it like veg or flowering stage for cannabis with light height? I do know with mycelium it doesn’t do photosynthesis just feed off the lights energy.

I hope all is well. You are usually sporting that hot GDP and I believe GL. I just got curious and ordered some spores. Went wit Fiji Island and Blue Meanie. I am a pretty basic outdoor grower. I hope this is not goi going to be too technical. Very excited. Just microscopic research……Good luck! I am just starting and have no kit or medium. Spores are about ten day for delivery. Suggestions appreciated.

Grew some B+ Cubensis for the first time back in 2016 ($60 kit from Midwest grow kits) ended up with 70 grams dry. 2 grams was enough to make me lose my mind…super intense. I jarred them up and didn’t touch em again for 3 years. Ate a couple of grams and it was enough for me to decide that I’m done with mushrooms forever. Love to look at them though. I gave away all the rest to a buddy of mine that like to microdose…treat his PTSD. He has TBI from an IED in Iraq. Here’s some pics.!

It was a fun experience for sure…about an 8 week process all in. The only tricky part was reusing (shocking) the cakes to get multiple yields. I tried a different approach with all 4 of them, and ended up with about 10 harvests over a period of about a week. When you get to that point, happy to chat about what worked and what didn’t work for me.

Caligurl's 2021 Mushroom Grow

First off, I’m growing these baby Portobellos So, my first grow didn’t go so well… I’ll explain later but I only ended up with about 1/4 ounce dried including the second flush. It’s a start, but a couple of the shroom growers have had contamination problems with Midwest Grow Kit products. I won’t buy from them any more and instead use North Spore. Never had a problem with a product from North Spore.

Good to know. I only bought from Midwest grow kits the one time, and it worked out great. But, my frame of reference is a little narrow given that I only had 1 experience.
