Fluorescent light

fie,
I am disabled , money is tight on fixed income, I do all my plants outside, come spring I start inside for about 4 to 5 weeks then transplant outside, this past year was a washout due to weather, So I am doing just a couple of auto flower plants inside, this is a onetime operation to inhouse growing, again i think, the sayhon sp1200 would work for me, I am looking for impute on this system, does anyone use the sayhon brand, WILL using the sayhon sp1200, get me through the bud stage, I realize the better the light the greater the bud, I used to have a 400 watt sodium high pressure light. also is there another brand of light and model, I can check out that would be better than the sayhon, even if it is a little more expensive and better quality. Again, I am glad I can communicate with all my fellow growers, nothing like knowledge,

Sorry not to my knowledge. Ive never even heard of it. Had to google them.

Again yes im sure it will. But ur happiness with the end product may not be all you may expect. You get what you pay for.

This Im not as sure about. Im sure there are quite a few. But think about it like this. This light is decent. Better then decent. Pretty good. As is MarsHydro’s newer models…. But the quality diff isnt something Id budge a couple bucks either way between them. HLG? The quality diff is MARKEDLY better. So much so Id pay teice as much for half the wattage. Like no questions askd (as long as I needed said light and could afford it).

This I also understand. I buy my lights one component at a time and assemble myself because its a bit cheaper.

@dbrn32 truly knows his stuff… I’d wait until he comments… The brand really may or may not matter but the specs tell all. He will steer you in the correct direction… Hlg also has diy kits that are a bit cheaper.

Its always understandable to constrained by budget. If its literally all you can afford, then just do the best you can. If this is a matter of budgeting or justifying spending a little more, i would definitely go with a quality light. Spending a little more on light like hlg product or equivalent will typically pay you back in harvest weight in your first grow. Then you will get to pull multiple harvests per year for several years.

dbrn32, I am getting to learn the words, what is the hlg products??? example please

Horticulture Lighting Group. The final photo I shared earlier is of their 260 Rspec model.

It can be an information overload. Take your time and learn. Consider options. Ask questions.

Perp, forget about the last system I asked about the s3000, I need info, if anyone is using the marshydro TS 600 or TS1000, and like your impute on this model, it is from walmart, I imagine it would take about a week or 2 if I try to order?? not looking for the high time bud, I get that outside, just want something that will get me a decent bud for now

I use the TS1000 for clones and seedlings on low power. I have a few clones that have outgrown the tent due to flowering tent taking forever. Interesting fact about the light. It’s for sure bright enough for one plants in a 2x2 tent, however you will have major stretch as they get bigger and starve for light. I’ll snap a few pictures later and show you my leggy girls. I will most likely try to do some major defoliation or just toss them. It was an experiment with clones anyways.

I tried to send some picture but have not figure out how on this reply, are you on messenger, if so I can send photo to you.

They frown upon outside the forum contact. If you have IG im not hard to find at all…

But that said, a good screenshot would work. Or copy/paste the name of it to here. I can look it up

Edit:

This?
MARS HYDRO TS 3000W LED Grow Light for Indoor Plants 4x4 5x5 ft Commercial Grow Lighting Daisy Chain and Dimmable Full Spectrum Plant Growing Light IR Sunlike Led Grow Lamp for Greenhouse 1016pcs LEDs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VPF7KKR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_7VWP5SXWRA6CKGWVH3MA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

For $450? Id still go with the 2 - HLG260s. Extra hundred bucks. Still worth it

Yes. That is the fluorescent huh?

Did you click the link above? I was looking for the light you described

yes, my fluorescent, this is a one-time adventure, no room, I live in in apt., so I am just curious, if my auto flower will produce buds, under this system, I guess i am at an impasse, whether or not to get some kind of light, I was actually, looking at a possible retrofit to a T5 system, I am really looking at a system that would be better than the fluorescent, and trying to keep the cost around, $100. this spring I will go back to outside growing. I enjoy the info. once again thank you

Ok I am now looking at a either a 24inch or 3 ft, Dymond full spectrum 5000k plus 660 nm red---- only question I have will it take through the flowering stage.

Says on the Lowes website it’s 80 watts max, I’m pretty positive this won’t get you past veg. Look at Spider Farms or even Mars Hydro for cheaper lights. You need to get the ppfd to around 900umols on light intensity for flower. That’s gonna take some serious juice for the lights. For one or two plants in a small tent, check out the Diablo 200 from HLG. I would for sure look for a better light than the dymond, but lights are the most cost in setting up a good grow space. You skimp on that, you won’t get the results you want and will be frustrated in the end. I have replaced my first light (Mars Hydro TS 1000) with (2) HLG 300L r-specs in a 3.5 x 3.5 tent. My 2x2 seedling/clone tent uses the TS 1000 now. Just words of advice from someone who wasted a ton of money on lights to get good results. Just go with the better light, may cost more in the short term, but long run you will thank yourself.
