Fizzy and the Beanstalk! Grow #5

Finally! Got time to prune my raggedy looking Terk. Her pistils are starting to turn. Almost 10 weeks old.

Also, the new lamp arrived but I am not attempting to hang it till the next grow.

I am going to do a fast turnaround this time. Photo next.

Happy Thanksgiving to my “Grow Family”!!!

I’ve got the best thing to be thankful for this year - Grumpy is home and is slowly getting stronger and a bit more mobile every day. So even thought it’s just two of us today (I usually host whatever family is available), I’m the happiest I’ve been in so long.

I’m also having a lazy day, no decor put up and the like. I’ve pared down the variety of food I’m making, and it’s going to be pretty doggone easy.

Enjoy everyone! And may all your dishes come out of the oven at the same time! (I usually leave something behind…)

PS - Terk is acting like a true auto. Her pistils are darkening and pulling in at a rapid pace. She’s not going to produce like Slowpoke, but then again, Slowpoke didn’t finish till day 149.

I unboxed my new lamp, just to take a peek. And I’m going to resist the tempation to try to hang it - my Godfather OG grow is coming up next and I’m pretty likely to start it by January at the latest.

Amazon had the AC Infinity Ionframe 300W that I wanted on sale for $75 bucks off, so I Santaed myself. I’m psyched b/c it has the LM301H EVO LEDs which are supposed to be super efficient. It’ll work with my controller too so Yatzee!

I ended up paying $285 for it which is a bargain.

Odie is determined to trip me at least 100 times in the kitchen today. He lives in eternal hope of me dropping the turkey.

I saved him the giblets -

@Fiz Excellent to hear! What a wonderful Thanksgiving for you three! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Congrats on the great, new light on sale!

My Spider Farmer has the LM301H EVO LEDs; I like it very much and I find that they run cooler than my HLG diodes.

Well, she is 72 days old today according to Alexa. She’s looking like she’s going in for the finish line. Her buds aren’t huge like Slowpoke’s were, but she’s loaded up and nearly a foot taller so… who knows.

She’s acting like a real auto, which is a very good thing.

It’s how they finish, not begin, that counts.
Enjoy

My ACI has them too, I was impressed with the efficiency and trust that the heat will be easy to handle.

My girlie is sitting in an 80 degree tent right now. but I’m running the lights 18 on, 6 off so they are probably getting much cooler overnight. This might be contributing to the quick finish, she’s knows it’s actually winter.

The new lamp has a sunrise/sunset setting where the lights ramp up and ramp down instead of 100% on or off. I have no idea what if any difference that would make, I’ll likely play around with the settings at some point.

That’s a great feature.
Yeah, who knows if/how much noticeable difference it makes, though either way it seems like the plants would like it since that’s the way the sun actually works.

Similar, but different: Back before I had better lights and when I was supplementing with sun/window sunshine, I noticed that early in the morning, my then-plant would tilt itself overnight, in the dark, towards the morning sun that it was anticipating. I wasn’t rotating the plant at the time, but it knew where the sun would come up. I thought that was so cool.

Hey @Fiz i have the same lights as you just bought, i believe you will be extremely happy with them, i would highly advise to not ever turn them to 100%. Ive been using one light to grow two plants at 60% and my temp in a 4x8 tent has run about 82f. While lung room temp has stayed about 75. I bought second light of same type and temps are running about 86. Tried turning them up to 70 with all tent flaps and doors completely open and still ran about 86f inside tent. Next grow im running without a tent and using one light, one scrog, one autopot, 1 plant x 2.
Youll be happy with your light but i wouldnt run it inside a closed off tent.

I’ll have to see how it goes, but honestly I don’t think I’ve ever run one of my lamps at 100% with the exception of my 1st one, which was a 150 watt Mars.

I ordered the actual diffuser from the Photone people, so I’ll actually be able to accurately measure DLI.

I’m also thinking of hanging it directly from the ceiling of the tent rather than from the ratchets.
