Fix Farm Ocean Forest

Soooo… I was ready to start a new grow with FFOF this time. But I saw where it’s not good to start seedlings in it because it’s to hot, and it should be blended with other medium for better grow. Any recommendations as what to start seeds in and also what to mix FFOF with for a better grow?. (I’m growing autos), and also can’t decide whether to start them in jiffy cubes and transplant or to start them in their final pot? This only my second indoor grow and I would like to be successful with it. All suggestions will be much appreciated.

I use rapid rooters. Soak them in 200PPM nutrient solution. Wring out excess.
You could use happy frog which is a little easier on seedlings. Honestly I don’t worry about a little wrinkling of the leaves. @Tdog94wl

I found FF Happy Frog us superb for seedlings. Mine filled a gallon grow pot in under two weeks. They just exploded. I would only advuse using FFOF for flowering.

almost 2 years later: is this still true? I’m planning for an outdoor grow in 5 gallon pots, 3 plants. I must trundle them around to get enough sun! I’d like to minimize work; can I grow plants with good seeds and water and sun, maybe some extra nutes during flower, with FFOF??

I would not recommend starting seedlings in FFOF, but transplanting into it should be fine. Jacks 321 will carry you through from seed to harvest.

Jack’s 123 in addition to FFOF? Frequency/dosage?

Feed every time you water.

Part A is the Jack’s Hydroponics(5-12-26)
Part B is the Calcium Nitrate bag (15-0-0)
And any bag of Epsom salt works for the third part.

Per gallon mixture is
3.6g of Part A
2.4g of Part B
1.2g of Epsom salt

You have to mix them in order of operations take your bucket of water and put in the part A and the Epsom salt then stir until completely dissolved. When that is completely dissolved add in the Part B, stir until dissolved…then ph accordingly.

thanks. the reason I thought I’d grow in FFOF, rather than coir/perlite, was to avoid the need to fertigate…

You’ll still need to after about a couple of weeks, lighting pending.
