Well I moved them to 3gal fabric pots with FFHF . I hope I didn’t stress them too much, I was all thumbs and roots were surprisedly long for only a week or so old
All of my autos start in a solo cup, then transplanted to either 3 or five gallon fabric pots on day 14, and then get topped at the 6th node (something else they say your not supposed to do with a auto) around day 21. Never had a problem with stunted growth!

Those photos were taken two weeks ago. MUCH bigger now.
Im not sayin its guaranteed to “stunt” them by transplanting. Im just sayin transplanting causes some stress. And since an auto flower has a pre determined life span stress that slows growth at an early stage is taking a chance at reduced yeild and smaller or stunted plants. It seems to be pretty common toughts that autos do best when started in their forever homes.
Now with that said ive started mine in rapid rooters under a clf for a few days until first leaves then plant right in 5gal grow bags,first grow and had great harvest.Now my current grow i started in there forever homes and think they grew faster and have bigger frames . And also i top, fim and lst, it works great when done at the perfect time.
Well said thanks buddy @Usmcjojo
@Familyman420all good info, lots of great support here. And experience. I had difficulty getting them out of the solo cups, for various reasons. They were so young and soil FFHF was relately dry except near roots. I was very sparking on water since so young. So when I tried to remove them everything came out and some of the root had found the drain holes and was stuck
@Rugar89 nice looking plant. Is that a 5 gal pot? And how old is it at photo
OK! Question about watering now they are in bigger pots. Do I saturate all the soil media, or just sparingly water down the root area? A rough estimate of how much water it would take for 3 gal fabric pots might be around 1/2 gal or so each pot.
Also I have the FF big bloom, grow big and tiger bloom, so planning on following that recommended feeding schedule. That chart is showing start feeding at 1 st week, but reduced concentration, which I am at currently .
Around 10 weeks I think. Yes, 5 gallon pot.
If you water the soil and then let it sit for a day before transplanting, the soil will usually hold together better. When I transplant out of the solo cups, I cut the bottom out with a razor blade, then cut down one side of the cup and they pop right out.
Soil is FFHF, 600 w “LED on 20/4 cycle. 3 gal fabric pots from solo cup. Do you trust soil pH mete that is multifunction? Water has been adjusted to 6.3 pH. These are about at 9 days
@ReMoLu Do you have any ideas as to the cause of the spots and the curling of the leaves? Is this a common problem? @Rugar89 @Flyr @Donaldj @Countryboyjvd1971 @Myfriendis410 @neckNflu @Niala
What soil are you in? Could be nute burn.
@Myfriendis410, FFHF soil, WW auto
they didn’t get any nutes only water adjusted pH 6.4 light spray as they were coming up. The tip of the leaves seem the same on a couple of them. Hasn’t gotten worse that I could tell as of yesterday. But I think their growth is a little behind compared to others at 12 days. When I moved them to big pots, I did put them a little deeper, so their height isn’t as much as when in the cups.
It sounds like you are doing right. Is there a fan on them? It looks like nute burn but not with Happy Frog. Maybe wind burn? Getting water on them under lights can burn them too.
@merlin44, I’d just keep an eye on them. They’re young and very sensitive. I bet that’s old damage from when they were too damp.
To clarify, @Flyr, this is @ReMoLu 's grow. I was just hoping to bring a few of the more experienced growers into the conversation. ![]()
Thank you, @Flyr and @Myfriendis410 for weighing in.
@Myfriendis410 thank you . I did spray them u def the lights, so maybe that is what is from, I didn’t know not to, and I did see it just after I did that. If that is possible. Doesn’t appear to have any on going issues that I can tell. I’ll check on them midday. They were also under lights 24 hrs for about the first full week out of ground
@merlin44. Gotcha. Thanks Merlin. @ReMoLu, I still think your girls are fine. You just transplanted them correct? They have to adjust to their new environment. Mine looked the same until new growth appeared and now they are going crazy. I bet yours will do the same.
@Flyer @merlin44 just an update. Day 10: All the girls seem to be doing good. No more brown spots and growing. A few are a little slow…on the short bus. All seem to be behind some others at same stage.
Yesterday they got second feed of nutes 1/3 strength and they seem to have liked it. I have some veggies sprouting and used some on them, and holy shit. They almost doubled in two days.
@ReMoLu, That’s great.
