High,
I “Fimmed” topped and super cropped. All did very well for me last year. I did the same this year but lost the three I fimmed. They were males. I thought I hurt my girls but wow they responded well. Last years “Sea of Green” is the pic with all the colors and buds. This years “Jiddys Jungle” is all green. Still have a month or two to go. Gonna be interesting. I try things if they work out do it again if not I try something different. The people in here are very eager to help. Trust them it will benefit you.!
Happy growin

Do they classify as an invasive species there?
Come on guys, lets not get all snotty… if someone wants to gloat or have an opinion that isnt gentle… just let them. This should be a place of learning and respectfulness. I give out information that not all people agree with and thats ok. Likewise, I know some of yall are just plain wrong and I let you be, thats ok too.
Just be kind and enjoy the community of growers.
Welcome to The Order of the Nine Bladed Leaf.
It can join the X-Men…
Let’s not overlook that the OP started photoperiods in Virginia in August. I applauded the effort. But to have any hope of a decent harvest, it would make sense to leave the plants alone, as stress-free as possible.
We can talk all we want about each grower finding their own way, but at some point nature has its say.
I’m thinking that as September comes in, the temp and humidity will decrease, but we’re dealing with wild, climate change weather, so we have a different normal. I follow wxrisk on Facebook for climate info. Could be valuable for growers in the mid-atlantic.
If you top doesn’t it just slow vertical growth from the top of the plant? I’m growing outdoors in the northeast with a photo northern lights. It sprouted on July 23 and I topped it at about 3 weeks later. It did stop the plant from getting taller for a few days but all the lower growth kept growing and developing more potential flower sites. Im new to growing but I thought I read somewhere that the point of topping would be to create more flower sites so you get more smaller buds and less big buds that would be prone to bud rot.
Here’s it is the day I topped (Aug 13)
Here it is as of yesterday (about 1 month since it sprouted), about 2 feet tall and much fuller looking
@Abidist good luck on your late season grow! I lost my earlier grow to bud rot (dumb mistake on my part) and now starting over. Hoping I can harvest something this season!
High,
My experience with topping and fimming is you get more buds not necessarily a shorter plant. This one has been topped four to five times and is now a 9 footer.
Happy growin

I’m glad I did top. Only had time for one topping since I needed to force flower as we’re getting near the end of the season. Here it is 10 weeks old and a little more than 2 weeks into flower. The two main tops are looks great and the plant definitely grew taller after topping. The lower “tops” caught up a little in height and also look good.
High,
I’d like to try to get a small version of “The Jungle”, except they have a mind of their own! Lol
Main cola on one of my best girls. We had a heavy rain storm a few days, and the branches are so heavy, I thought she was going to fall over, but she’s dried out and looks good.
They look awesome!
High, thanks man
Happy growin

@oldmarine @anon86641082 @Oldstoner Looking for some input from some outdoor peeps. Hope ya don’t mind. How far out do you think I am on this girl. I was thinking a 2 more weeks? These are just with my iPhone got a loop coming this week . Should i start water only? Thanks in advance.
I would think about 3 weeks or so. It’s kinda hard to tell withought really being able to physically see the plant. Looks good.
I’m a central Virginia first time grower too…I cheated a bit and got my plants in the garden mid May. I have a raised garden with deer netting around it so my issues are insects. Good insecticidal soap and a keen eye. I started two white widow plants and one og Kush and one super skunk. One of the white widow plants was stunted for some reason but I planted it anyway. Now it’s the boss! I harvested one white widow already and got eleven quart jars stuffed with buds from that one plant. I highly recommend a horizontal grow with at least two layers of netting, one low one about 4/5 feet. Attaching pics…the white widow I still have to harvest is even bigger than the first…! Good luck.

My local paper had a story in it this morning about Virginia medical pot dispensaries now being allowed to sell buds. They were previously only permitted to sell gummies, oils, tinctures, etc.
The price of an eighth of an oz? $65.
That’s $520/oz.
Which means that, by legally growing four autoflowers in my garden over a 12-week period this summer, the dispensary value of my crop is close to $10,000. That assumes that the quality is indistinguishable. And my bud is completely organic. Just seed, garden soil, water and sun.
Here is one plant.
