The only thing is I would have to dig on one side of my yard for optimal sun. Problem there is I have chain link gates for front access and they would be cleeeeeearly visible. I’m ready to set up my closeeeeet:sob:
Hey, I have a couple questions @Underthestairs. I can’t remember exactly but seeds sinking in water after a while isn’t bad right??? Been reading sink or float, either way is ok. Dropped 2. The one floating is changing colors so I’m sure it’s ok. Other sank after a few hours.
Next question. Should I be worried here. There are a few like this and I’m thinking going from a constant 72° to over 90° half the day may have cooked some of them.
Ya I’m not thinking it matters too much. Of the 6 GSC dropped so far, 4 made it to sprout (1 just didn’t make it and other became a cat toy or something). I can’t tell you which floated or not.

I tied down all of Jillian’s bigger branches to get them out from under the top leaves. And bent her top almost 90° about 6 or 7 inches from the tip. No snaps, no breaks, no tears. Just exposing the bottom more for maximum harvest.
I think my pH pen is out of whack. It’s the Apera pH20. I had to get some new solution because I was low. I was calibrating it yesterday and it kept giving my a USA screen, like it did the first time I turned it on. Never been dropped or banging when shaking the water or solution off during testing. Always stored properly. Got past that and I didn’t feel my numbers were right on the screen. Dipped it in the solution to calibrate a little while ago and it is reading .1 lower than test solutions. 6.9 for the 7.0 and 3.9 on the 4.0. I mean I can do basic math, so I can adjust and account for what my numbers are, according to my meter. But I don’t know if the numbers stray further from their true numbers or on other tests. I don’t have time to wait for the return and exchange process with amazon. I may have to break the bank and buy another one at the pool store or Home Depot.
Jillian got a big drink of plain pH’ed tap water. So, with my pH meter reading off .1, I put in the water at 6.2, which should be 6.3. Run off pH was 6.0 which should be 6.1. pH good. Waiting for aaaalll runoff to do a TDS. I’ll have those numbers in a few. Didn’t bother with ppm, in my pH’ed tap going in is way lower than what she needs I know, but I’m about to go full on feeding in a couple of days. Her runoff PPM has been a tad high, so after a flush Saturday morning, she will start feeding Monday. All her flower spots look great after the small LST. Still have to tie a couple branches.
Jordan is still pretty damp and looking good. Getting that wonderful earthy, minty, piney smell. Will upload some pics with my TDS numbers.
Alright, Jillian’s TDS numbers have her runoff at just about 1,000. I will run a gallon through her Saturday morning and check the TDS before the flush. Then test during, and a final check at the end. Her soil should be running the end of it’s course with it’s already supplied nutrients. I’m fairly certain her numbers will be up after the initial flush, but the couple of gallons I rinse said flush with should drop them a good bit.
I’m really curious as to the amount of nutrients fabric pots may absorb or hold. How much of an effect might they have on run off numbers? I’m going to do a test with an empty bag and run a fataxx shot of nutes through it. I’m going to top out my meter and run a clean gallon every day or two and see how much it drops every time. Depending on how far down the roots are, if they are grabbing nutrients from the bottom of the actual bag, then it makes sense that nutrient toxicity could occur should the bag be filtering anything. Jordan here… Her calyxes are FAT. I ‘accidently’ brush a tiny part of a flower (at the very bottom) with my finger tip and she is already sticky and smelling fabulous.
Jillian looks like a zombie hand coming out of a grave plot lol. Not showing any distress after the bends I applied yesterday evening. On the contrary she has much more growth on her tips and lots of new pistils. It’s why I’m so torn on flushing. It’s not only recommended, but it’s part of every FF feeding schedule. Her and her sister look great, though.
Is that “me too”? I’m just seeing a guy throwing a peace sign. I think I’m having a little glitch with pictures and gifs. It’s taking a long time to upload photos and I just can’t upload gifs.
It’s crazy because I’m getting all worried about numbers and every other post I’ve read today is growers saying forget the numbers, if they look good grow with it😂. Just pH the water
I mean you don’t want to stress every little thing and if you were in coco then yes, ph and go and don’t worry about the numbers. But in soil you do have to monitor the numbers. Don’t stress over them but monitor and adjust or flush as needed
I’m running a dozen or so experiments dealing with my grows. Like my current reveg plants. Some were accidental and some are an experiment in my goal of a perpetual grow.
I can’t wait til can get enough going to do as much. That is a gorgeous flower in that last pic. What kind of reveg experiments are you doin? Without giving away secrets of course and if you don’t mind me asking?

. Seriously though, 90% of the people on the forum grow with fabric pots and I’ve yet to hear of this being an issue
