First Time Outdoor Gold Leaf Auto

Hi All,
First time poster here(well I did just make a post in a really old thread, but I’m not sure it will get many eyes, forgive me, figuring this out, lol. Mods feel free to delete one, or move it somewhere, or whatever you feel) I have some Gold Leaf Autos on the way and if everything goes right want to start them July 1rst.
First Question, I’m located in the southern half of the Northeast US. Will I have enough time for a full auto cycle starting July 1?
Second, I’ve read that femmed non auto Gold Leaf is an absolute beast. Most use a 3gal fabric pot for autos, while some suggest a more vigorous auto could use more room. The description suggests the auto version is small and compact. Just wondering if it leans ruderalis or more photo sized. Am I ok with a 3gal or would a 5gal be more suitable?
Third, I plan on using FFOF 1 to 3 with Perlite and top dressing with BAS craft blend for flowering. Will FFOF burn Gold Leaf babies? I know some genetics are more sensitive than others, so I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with FFOF and Gold Leaf specifically.
WoooooHooooo! My first(well second, lol)official post! Thanks a bunch to whomever can chime in, and here is to many more future discussions! Cheers!

If I were still doing autos I’d put them into 5 or 7 gal. Probably 7 just in case I finally get a big plant.

Yeah, next summer no question I’ll be doing photo period. Just had some rapid developments locally and am trying to squeeze something in this outdoor season. I’m a bit behind schedule for photos though

Timing will be close and dependent on several factors. Weather and when temps start to drop is main concern. I would make sure you have a plan to protect it during late stage flowering in case of early frost or freeze.

Last year I started late and finished early nov. I live just below New York. You should get them in. Good luck and Welcome!

Yes, I’m hoping for one of those dragged out Summers where it’s still temperate in October. The local climo has done that the past few years, so we shall see, hopefully I don’t get an early flip this season to the more cold and stormy regime that always eventually settles in.

u should be fine. hopefully youll get some cool temps to bring out some color…

Hi all, everything on track to get rolling next week! Do you all find it necessary, if starting from germination into their forever home to make a small well of say FF Light Warrior or the like? Or can I just go straight into FFOF and Perlite from the start?

Hi all… Ugh, my seeds seem to be stuck in transit. It was going quite well initially as I checked the tracking, everything was “on time” and said it would arrive yesterday. Then I logged on and it changed to “arriving late” and the arrival date was removed. It has been that way for two days. Has anyone else had this problem? And how long does the delivery typically take? I’m in a race against Mother Nature to get these in, every day is crucial! This sucks… thought I’d be germinated by now.

I’ve had several orders with ILGM. One was really quick @ 8 days and the others came in about 3 weeks.

Patience is a desired skill when it comes to growing. Think of this as practice or a hardening if you will.

Anyway, keep us informed of your progress.

Autos will do their own thing, so it’s their schedule, not your’s.

Yup, I like that… Patience is always a skill that can use further honing for myself in particular. I think however, I’m going to change up my plans. Instead of trying to cram in an outdoor season, I’m going to invest in a tent set up w/ LED and outdoor will have to wait until next year. This new plan is presenting its own challenges however, one being out of my two less than ideal locations which will I set up in… A. A musty, unfinished basement that takes in water occasionally, but maintains a relatively constant cool temperature or my attic, which is a full walk up space with a couple of rooms, two functional windows, but is partially insulated, well let’s just say it’s not insulated because what is up there is quite old and crusty and falling down and what not, so it suffers from some temperature issues for sure. Could those be rectified with a window AC unit during hot months and a space heater during cold? From the research I’ve done resoundingly people say basement, but I’m wondering if that’s the case when comparing to a more crawl-up eve space type attic that doesn’t have rooms and windows and such. I just can’t see growing in a musty, potentially moldy unfinished basement, unless I’m not seeing this clearly through my novice eyes. Any insight would be incredibly appreciated, thanks folks!

Hope you got your seeds. BTW , did you happen to Stumble on average days from sprout to harvest on an outdoor auto gold leaf?

Unfortunately nothing as of yet in the seed department. It looks like from what has been shared with me one can expect around a 90 day cycle seed to harvest give or take.

Hey, thanks so much… Seeds came in!!! Think I’m going to do indoor now though, lol. Always something

Hi guys, long time no post…
So during this posting hiatus I got up and running. Just dove in head first. I’ll give you a rundown of what’s up.
Tent- 4x4 gorilla
Exhaust- 6” speed controlled inline exhaust
Intake- passive
Lightning- HLG 600 rspec, 35” off canopy dimmed to 70%
Temps- 75-80
Humidity- 45-50%
Calendar- Day 35
Genetics- Gas Reaper “deez runts” auto flower
Medium- FFOF blended with Light Warrior(30%roughly) added perlite, added hydroton
Nutrition- Build a soil Craft blend top dress
Water- Filtered “Zero Water” PH 6.4-6.8
Microbes- Recharge
Pests- Some fungus gnats seen
Let me know if I left out any clues…
So everything was going really smooth, besides getting used to the HLG 600 rspec. That thing is powerful. In veg the plants were exploding, really vigorous growth, that continued into stretch. Then once flowering started, I noticed my most vigorous lady started to look not so happy. The foliage to start was a nice deep green throughout the plant, I soon noticed lower and middle fan leaves slightly lightening and developing brown spots, as I examined further thr new growth also seemed to have lightened and some spots here and there as well. I thought it could be calcium, but really have no idea. Help!!! She is 10 days into flower and sisters are close behind, I don’t want to screw up now! Any insight would be so, so, appreciated. @oldmarine @HMGRWN @Hitman1811 @oldguygettingbackin @downbythepylons @dbrn32
