First time grower22

Hey I’m on day 5 of planting, should I replant to a couple inches below first leaf and place humidity dome (ziplock bags with sprayed water)? Thanks and will be getting a new light fixture etc

Hey! Welcome gromie! Nice start. I wouldn’t try to replant them just yet. They’re very fragile at that size. You could stake them up with a skewer or similar then lightly hold together with a twist tie so they don’t fall over and lower your light source a few inches if possible.

Also, plastic cups like solo brand cups that are not clear make great cheap starter pots for a lot of us here. They’re usually very easy to transplant out of and you can make your own drain holes in them.

That pinkish colored pot may be difficult to transplant from as it looks like the widest part of that pot is not the top.

You’re welcome. Feel free to start a grow journal here so if you have issues throughout your grow you already have everything documented and more of us can chime in and lend a hand and share the love of growing. :v:

Welcome Sunbeamjc,

I look forward to getting to know you. As Jake3 says, those girls are begging for more light.

Welcome to the community , Backfill add soil to the top of the pot. Small fan create a little air flow Enough to make them jiggle will help to strength the stems.
Happy growing :v:

As Kellydans said fill the pots up, and others suggested better bigger lights or turn yours up a bit, I am not a veteran indoor grower on my first tent grow the leggy stems are from not enough light. And welcome to the forums plenty of help here.

Just a random question. Do those pots have drain holes in the bottom?

Welcome to the community!!!

When you repot you can bury a lot of that stem. They are definitely wanting more light. They’re reaching for it. For flowering the consensus is around 200 watts per plant or 40 watts per square foot. Somewhere around there will be your sweet spot.

Happy growing to you @Sunbeamjc

@PogueMahone for the drain holes 3 have them and the other 3 do not

Agreed.
Small breeze (fan) may be too late for long stalks.
However, when replanting or now, mounding up to bottom leaves (cotyledons) is advised.

Yes, and filling journal or thread with this format, makes for faster reading and “assisting” with fewer question/answer delays.

Update: More soil added, new light source (in the process of getting a specific light and getting a fan

I’m a little concerned about the pots w/o holes. Roots need holes for drainage and to breathe. Water very lightly, and test before you water. I would plan on transplanting in a couple weeks. I have become a fan of 3+gal fabric pots for the final grow.

If not already lower your light closer to the seedlings Will help with the stretch. Also take a couple fingers and mash the soil down where you can add another inch of soil around the stems. :+1:
