First Time Grower Maui Wowie

Tag me if you need any help. I used the pot 4 pot set up my 1st grow, the advertised start to finish using water only is misguided. I would recommend checking the run off PH and PPMs weekly and feed once the PPMs drop below 1000 and target 1000 PPMs and a PH of 6.5. With all that said this is my recommendation if you’re going the salt based fertilizer route, organic is uses a different method of no run off keeping the medium moist using organic top dressed dry amendments :love_you_gesture:

So, I’m like 4 weeks into flowering and I have more leaves yellowing and falling Along with spots on my leaves. I’ve checked my run off ph and it Was high. Along with my notes and it Was high in potassium and normal In everything else. With at least 6 more weeks to go not sure how to save this baby :woman_facepalming:t4: First 3 are from today the other 2 are a couple of weeks ago.

So my Ph runoff is high and I’m not sure what the PPMs are, but I’m wondering if this plant can be saved.

How high was the run off PH? A TDS pen is as critical as the PH pen Grow Bro. Generally when the PH is really high or low a reset flush is used to bring that back in range. Make sure there’s holes in the pot and moving forward feed or water to liberal run off, salt heavy fertilizer can accumulate in the root zone driving up the PPMs and normally tanks the PH :love_you_gesture:

I was told that its normal to have yellowing leaves at this stage in flower. I have a plant doing the same exact thing. It looks just like yours. The plant canabalizes itself. Nitrogen is a mobile nutrient and the plant can move it around to other parts. Its moving it from the leaves into the buds. You should be okay but dont start feeding it more nitrogen either. It doesn’t need a whole bunch right now not like in veg…just keep on feeding it the regular flower nuets your giving it.

Do you have recommendations for which TDS pen to get?

Ok, it’s just been concerning because every time I see it there’s more yellow. I understand the concept of redirecting resources to the flower. I guess because this is my first grow I just don’t want to get to the end and there’s nothing…

My first grow also and i have the same concerns. I asked around last week because i was worried. Check the pH 6.8 is a good place for flowering. You could try increasing the PPMs also. It took mine from 1000 ppm to 1500 ppm just to be on the safe side. I also added Epsoma Soil Acidifier to the top soil and scratched it in as deep as i could. It probably wasn’t nessassary but it definitely will be beneficial due to it flowering now.
Maui Wowie is my favorite. I have 5 Feminized MW seeds i got from ILGM that will be my next grow. I’m growing bag seeds now.

Blue Lab is an excellent choice, I’ve been using one for 3 years with no problems :love_you_gesture:

Is that also the ph tester brand that you use? I’m concerned my current ph tester might not be accurate…

I use an Apera 20 PH pen :love_you_gesture:

This is my second time growing Maui, the first time I had the same issue. I think this plant lacks a lot of magnesium and PK during flower that and has a very finicky PH tolerance. Just my 2cents, I’m still an amateur grower.

The first Maui grow I was growing GG4 along side and did pretty much the same thing to both plants and the Maui still canabilized leaves like crazy. Produced some great smoke though!!!

Thank you just got both of your product recommendations on Amazon :crossed_fingers:t5:Will be using on my next grow. I’m gonna try my hand at Durban Poison auto flower. I live in south GA so, I’m hoping to grow outside again

I just did a pH reading, finally got a decent PH meter. My PH is way low. Next watering will be a flush again…

Take a few test runs like checking the PH and TDS of your tap water and write it down. That’ll give you a water source base PPM to start with when mixing nutrients :love_you_gesture:

Oh that makes me feel soooo much better. I thought that I was going to end up with nothing. I brought her inside due to the hurricane and I was low key hoping that would slow down the leaf dying, but nope. Just as much.

But yours looks awesome. I’m hoping with the right tools my second grow comes out better…
