Yeah these burple lights that are 600-900 advertised watts usually mean they can grow one plant, with airy buds sometimes and sometimes okay buds. Just depend son the true Wattage usually.

I’ve been looking at lights all day. I don’t have $300 or $600 to spend on hlg 260 v2 right now. I can replace the green go with another led for this grow but I just got all my lights. @Nicky @dbrn32 thanks for the advice will switch in future. What can you recommend for now. I can spend around $200 on a new light to keep with my vivosun.

A 260w v1 HLG is 229$ get a 3000k
(diy kit) super easy zap strap it and plug it in, screw 8 screws in and done

Take the $200 and stash it away until you have $300 or so. Then you can build one fixture that will run about half your space. Spending $200 on a temporary fix isn’t going to pay off in short term.

Watching, good luck with your grow.

I am gona get the floranova nutes as well, how are they or is this your first run with em? I think if i read your post right im exactly 1 month ahead of you i put mine in the dirt on the 15th of December but i didnt germinate them in any way. If i can figure out how i will give u a link to my journal. I wasnt so sure about it at first but now i love the journal you will be able to actually see the changes instead of just reading measurements like in my paper journal. Your setup is alot like mine i just have a 5x5. Good luck , the info on here is priceless and the people who provide said info even more. Ive been loving it so far im sure you will too, idk your skill level or experience but in a very short period you will be more then capable of growing anything just about.

Ive been very interested in building myself a good led, I am using 1k w hid now so i will need a good one to replace it and so far everything i see thats even close is way way too expensive. I have been looking into building my own but have no idea where to even start. Im pretty good with electrical things and can solder prettt good too, not sure if those skills are needed in building an led light but it cant hurt for sure.

I just saw in @Carol4486 grow journal she was running qb lights and leds. The color difference in the same area doesn’t bother the plants?

@Thc-lover1 out of likes but, :+1::+1:, HIDs are inexpensive to buy expensive to run and produce more then their fair share of heat. Your best is to go to the “let’s talk diy” lights and read through/ post in there. Strongly suggest you read for a whole before posting because people are always building setups.

@Capt.Cola Color difference doesn’t matter, they like some more than others but they will take what they can get.

In your opinion is the new rspec version of the hlg lights worth the money? Going to end up getting one hopefully by the end of month! Need nice buds or I’m kinda wasting my time and yours. Thoughts @Nicky @Kan72 @dbrn32. Tried looking up parts to build something similar but don’t have the know how yet.

Yes they’re great quality lights. @Capt.Cola

Density and weight is first and foremost determined by proper lighting. Invest in your lights up front you won’t be sorry.

I think you should make sure you have good light intensity. Doesn’t really matter to me if you buy qb kits, build a light, or buy a fixture ready to hang. When you look at typical options, qb kits offer a lot versatility and not as expensive as most.

To me that rspec sounds like a solid plan . You can build up from that . Once you have a grow or two under your belt . You will have a much better understanding of what to do. Keep reading other people’s journals , even specialists stuff up .

These new rspec are great, efficient, top quality, unbeatable warranty and they do a bang up job, priced fairly considering what you can pay and get alot less.
That being said just like @dbrn32 said it doesn’t have to be hlg its just a great option when you don’t know alot. If you want to save money build your own and go to the DIY thread but if you don’t want to invest in the time to learn or your in a rush go back to the HLG’s. Rspec are the best tech HLG has at the moment and they will provide gains ocver a v1 but is it worth the price difference? I couldn’t tell you probably not if your wondering over the price and since v1’s and v2’s are on sale.
You could buy some lights in sale and then in the future when you arnt in a ruhs and know more you could build your own.
Or you could sit down take a dya of your time and read through the last 200 posts or so in the DIY thread to get a good handle on what you need and how to do it, followed by a day of asking questions before you place your order for parts, then spend a couple hours of your time putting them together to get a light that will serve you for years to come and grow very well.

These are your options we can’t chose for you, it’s at the point where you have to decide what you want to do.

Ps if your asking if the upgraded lights are worth the extra money then the choice to me seems like your better to get the stuff on sale or build your own. Everything is priced fairly or we wouldn’t steer you that route it’s more of what your willing to spend

Growing cannabis is not cheap but nor is buying it and everything you invest will be paid back over and over again if you are willing to invest up front. If your going to not spend the money or save the money then don’t half ass it to be honest, grow outside or save your money, go buy some smoke and your life will be alot less stressful and you won’t have wasted money. Just my 2c
