I used the GFP both as top dressing and as a tea. 2 tbsp GFP & 2 tbsp black strap molasses per gal water. But instructions say let stand 2 - 8 hours, stirring occasionally. Adjust pH if necessary. I don’t know what issues may arise from letting it set overnight.
I’ve used NLS and GFP on the last three grows. The last two I had no yellowing issues. The first one, I had some yellowing problems but it turned out to be pH related - way too high, locking out any chance of nutrient uptake.
This is key. Usually when I have yellowing going on, it’s because I’m starving them, and that usually ends up being a pH issue.
Now that being said, with this last grow, my PPM tracking showed I had to use a lot more of the GFP than what the instuctions say to keep my run-off PPMs up as high as I wanted. Maybe you and I both got a weak batch or something. So it may your girls are just hungry?
Growing semi-organic, I try to have just a little run-off to use as a reference and I found that everytime I top dressed, my run-off pH would be higher than normal, then ease down with the next watering, but bump back up with the next feeding. That may explain the yellowing right after you used the tea. A bump in pH could bump it right into lock-out.
Turn the intensity down, and lower the light a couple inches. Moving it down while lowering intensity will still bring your ppf up, and help keep heat down. If you can feel the heat on the back of your hand at canopy level, too much.
I’ve only been growing 3 years, 2 indoors, and i still have lots of those moments lol. I’m not inclined in electrical, but a lot of the times, the driver of the light can be rewired with longer cables so you can mount it outside the general grow space. That definitely helps with heat. I try not to go over 82°, but it happens sometimes. Chasing numbers like temp and humidity and VPD (vapor pressure deficit, basically how much your plant perspires) can be a biiiig headache. Then one day you look at your plants and are like, my lights too close or they need some calcium. But there’s always hiccups.
Mine did come with long cables and i did run it outside of the tent early early in the grow. was hitting close to 90 before that! now with your advice I’ve got it hovering between 78 and 80! Still waiting on the delivery driver and the bluelabs pen. will update once i have it
I’m gonna say too early. My peepers aint peepin like theybused to peep, but judging by the newer white hairs, a couple weeks. Amazon has cheap wireless microscopes that work on wifi to get a little more close up. Like $30-$40
Why the water “BOILING”?
And what kind of filtering?
Enjoy the opportunity to determine and correct the issue.
Some lessons involve more pain than others.\Hope we all do well and learn quickly.
My tap water isnt the cleanest in the world, I’d rather be safe than introduce random bacteria. Probably completely unnecessary and me just being extra cause im new to this😅
