that is one of my Favorites, they take longer than most autos and seem slower but come out amazing.
Have a stupid question, I just planted another seed and when it comes up I want to use the plastic bottle trick as a way to keep the humidity up when it’s a seedling.
Do I bury the opening in the dirt or just place it on top around the little one?
@Docnraq ive been reading a lot and I see you have a lot of good advice for us newbies so I wanted to get your opinion on something
I have my light in my 4x4 tent with some blue dream autos set at 50% power currently. They are going to be a month old soon and seem a little small to me. Will increasing light intensity at this stage help with their growth? The pictures on this thread are pretty recent.
I haven’t started any nutrients yet as I was advised by Fox farm that their ocean Forrest blend will feed them for 3-4 weeks. I was told that when I add those I should see an improvement as well but just want to have as much knowledge as I can going forward.
Appreciate the help!
Got a couple things going on this morning. Ill look over this thread and get back to you. Didnt wanna leave you hangin.
Thanks appreciate it!
Let me know what you need to know from me
Push the edge into the soil a lil bit to make a “seal” to keep humidity in there. I often use clear dixie cups for domes. The lip of the cup has to be cut off and the edge pushed into soil otherwise it doesnt stay humid in the dome.
They are pretty small.
The distance between your nodes is super wide. That is a sign she isnt getting near enough light.
What kinda light are you using? This will help determine hanging distance and intensity.
I read your thread and definatly watering too early. Sprouts drink from the air for the first week. So only misting the topsoil around them and keeping them domed up is all you wanna do there. Second week like a half a cup water in a ring 3 inchess away from the sprout will last 3-5 days and still keep em domed. After that you can remove the dome but still want the RH to be about 65% I use a humidifier but I live in the desert.
Thats correct.
Yes but at this size your lady has barely consumed anything. Soil still gonna be loaded.
I think she is small for two reasons. 1) over watering in the begining. Its hard for roots to move through wet soil, especially in seedling phase. They are fragile and weak AF during the first 2 weeks or so. 2) not enough light to power the engine of growth. You can tell she reached a point where the light got better by how her leaves got wider but that shoukd happen right away vs a couple weeks after sprouting. Lemme know about that light and we will get it squared up.
Wont lie to you at this point your yeild potential has been drasticly reduced. She will begin flowering very soon and because she doesnt have alot of root structure its not gonna be great. Should you keep her? ABSOLUTELY! You will learn alot more by finishing her then starting over. Would anyone blame you for pulling her? No.
@ 4 weeks she should look more like this.
Get back to me on that light info and we will go from there. Tell me light make and model I.E. MarsHydro (make) fc3000 (model)
Current hanging distance and you said 50% intensity right?
Yes it’s at 50% power at the moment and I’d have to measure how far it is away from them. I feel like it may Too far, if I had to guess it’s roughly two feet away from the plants.
The light is part of the tent set up I got. The tent is from vivosun and I believe it is one of their lights. It’s 100 watt light. And I’m sure the over watering didn’t help my case, I kinda figured it was going to affect the outcome by the time I realized I made a mistake.
And when you first plant the germinated seed, you wanna put it only about a finger nail deep into already damp soil correct? Then once they sprout use the dome
Definitely need as much advice as you can give. Like how much water and when, light intensity, etc.
Would love to get bigger and better buds!
Well bring the light down, if you have the instruction manuel or to tell you how far. But I have a small light mh ts1000 and 2 ft is pretty far. Bring it down to 19 or so inches and turn it up to 65%.
Are you letting them have dry periods between waterings?
Ok sounds good. Figured the first grow is going to be kind of like a test run. Appreciate the help! I think that and obviously watering less in the beginning will help a lot
I am now. At the start I drowned them but now I know better. I water them every 2-3 days now
Awesome, such an easy mistake to make that I think everyone has made their first couple grows
Yeah was giving them ~10-16 oz a day as seedlings. They stopped growing and I realized I had given them too much!
I let them dry out for 3-5 days before I gave anymore water (which I measure out now by the oz) and they started to grow again but it stunted them for sure.
Yeahhh you’ll get it brother by the time comes for your next run you won’t even be measuring it
So I just harvested my first plant and 2 more about there so very noob. One trick that really helped me with when to water is the weight of the pot. Just lifting a inch off the ground you will get a feel for just watered weight and dry and light and it will seem light. Won’t notice so much now because your girls are small but now is a good time to get use to their wet weight. Once they are flowering you’ll really notice and it will only take 2-3 days before soil is dry and ready for water. It helped me with over watering especially since I live in desert thought they always needed water. Maybe it will help you as well.
Well this one looks the best out of all of them. The other two are pretty lanky. Gonna finish this out for the learning experience of when they flower and hope that round two is solid!

One is short and one is really tall like I said. Also the shorter one has a couple odd leaves. Doesn’t seem to be affecting it too much but just curious as to what it is
New leaf weirdness. The first sets of leaves can be funky sometimes.
