First rookie mistake(of the year)

So I may have gotten too excited for this grow season and started my seeds a month too early.
Didnt think about the simple fact that I dont have growlights or that here in the Fingerlakes of NY there is not enough light in the day to keep my plants from flowering if i put them outside.
Anyone have any suggestions for what to do?
Im scared that if I wing it and put them outside in three weeks(total daylight at 12 hours 40 minutes), I wolnt have enough time to restart new seeds by the time I realize they have flipped.

They may not sexually mature before the days get long enough? If so theyll probably just reveg?

Dude it’s way to cold out in NY now. I’m in upstate NY maybe you could keep them near window. Just get a cheap fluorescent light. I put plants out one year in like 2nd or 3rd week in April cause it got warm then. Like a week later it snowed.

You might ok they will take 2 to 3 weeks to get any size on them. Assuming your in soil and transplanting outside. But ya get a T5 flouresent light 2 x 4. If you start them a month befor you put them out they will already be like a foot tall. You’ll have a much better plant and success rate

Yeah ill head into town tommorow and pick up a light. I have a hard time stomaching wasting 80 bucks on seeds

Make sure you get the T5 HO fixture with 6500k bulbs. They are awesome lights for seedling and small plants. Very efficient and great for weed. Goodluck bro

I put my plants out in May last year in Ohio…I just had a 100 watt incandescent bulb over them on a timer to come on for 1 hour in the middle of the night (they were on a deck) to prevent them from flowering.

I have another plant right now in my sun room that is 6 months old. Been barely feeding her and have the light on for an hour in the middle of the night…again to prevent flowering. Will use her for clones…starting on 420

All you really need is a cheap grow light that will keep it in veg till they can go outside

Added bonus you can use it each year to jump start your grow early you can literally just hang it in a closet

any fluorescent light fixture will get you through 3-4 weeks of veg. Shop lights work great, hang the fixture 6-8” above the plants and they’ll do well :love_you_gesture:

Do a search for feit grow lights at home depot. You could get a 24 inch grow lite for 25 bucks that will get you through seedling stage
I would spend little as possible if prepping for outdoors. I have the spider farmer lite as well and it is a great option for a little more.
I have a 4 foot feit lite and I have great luck with either.
