First indoor grow , and journal

@Tylersays oh yeah i totally understand man i have somewhere along the lines of like 20 plants going at any given time and they all in coco so its definitely a lot to keep up on haha. In just looking to super quickly bulk my stash back up . I ended up with 3lbs after my first run so if i can hit a number higher than that this time ill be happy about it , just need to make sure i can stockpile a good 5 or 10 lbs just cause i take care of all my family and friends needs so i need to make sure i have enough not to run out. One of my buddies likes to grab a lb at a time so sometimes i can go through it all quite quickly lol

Oh sweet. Did you do the bricks or bags? I have both in my cart. Just need to add perlite to my cart. Wasn’t sure what the better deal was with either the bricks or bags?

Also, I was purchasing the rain science bags and like a dumb dumb i hit the wrong button and bought a 10 pack of 5 gallon bags :man_facepalming::disappointed:
Didn’t realize it until i got my tracking today.
Now I need to figure out how many bags or bricks I need to fill 6 of those pots. :joy:

@The_Chef i have been using the bags but im sure theres no difference either way. The only reason i went the bag route is because my local grow store has ripped bag sales and if theres even a small tear in the bag they sell it for $10 even so last time i went there i was able to get 10 of the 50 liter bags for only $100!!! Talk about a steal!!!

There is a local hydroponics shop about 15 minutes away. Was trying to avoid local coz you know :joy:
But they may have stock there instead of waiting for shipment

I can actually get my preferred medium locally for $1 more than I can get it through Amazon and I don’t have to worry about bags with holes poked in it or anything.
Our local True Value/Ace hardware guy is apparently cool with everything since they basically exploded into a grow show July 1st last year! LOL!
They have a whole wall full of ferts and supplements and all kinds of stuff I figured I’d have to order to get otherwise.
We had 1 grow shop open after legalization here and they kinda suck honestly. Prices are high and advice i heard given while in there was so bad I HAD to correct them - and I’m no expert but I know wrong when I hear it!
Very disappointing as I had high hopes for them when they opened. TBH i don’t know if they made it. I’m on the far north part of town, they’re in the far western side of town so not really my beat and I just haven’t looked on line to see if they’re still there.
Doesn’t matter though, Ace is like 5 miles closer to me!

I don’t have the support around here to grow in coco. She’d flat flip the hell out if I told her everyday i have to water plants. Plus honestly I don’t want to have to water everyday either, so it works out! LOL!

@Tylersays @The_Chef yeah i definitely got lucky finding out that grow store is right down the road from me, its a grow generation store so they legit have everything its a huge warehouse that has everything i could ever need . And the guys who work there know enough to help out, considering next to the grow store is one of my states medical dispensarys lol id say they know enough to get people going in the right direction lol prices are good too , i only payed $20 a 1.5cubic foot bag of FFOF and FFHF at grow generation and paid i think $40 for a 1 cubic foot bag on amazon so they are def very competitive. I can also get those huge rectangular bundles of promix for $40 there and like i said $10 a bag for a ripped cannacoco bag that hasent even lost any medium just accidentally got poked by the forklift blade while moving the pallets full of them lol way better than the $50 a bag for cannacoco everyone elses wants for it around my area hahaha
Im telling you i should have taken a pic , when i first found out that store did that ripped bag deals i legit filled that back of my jeep up all the way to the ceiling with soils, cocos, and anything else they had , huge bags of perlite , legit anything you can think of. Needless to say i have enough mediums to last me well into 2025 lolol

Made a phone call today to see what my local hydro shop carries and they carry a bag of Mother earth 70/30 coco perlite. They also have roots organic coco bricks. Is any of this stuff worth looking into? They said they carry Canna coco products but all sold out atm. Lol

@The_Chef i havent used any of those personally but have heard about many people using mother earth with good success roots organic is good stuff too. I just went with whatever was most easily available to me at that moment and was just lucky with what i was able to get my hands on . I think you will have just as equal success across the board with whatever one you may use

I’m going there tomorrow to check things out bro. Gotta get this 4x4 rolling with autos by the end of next week :joy:.

Opened up the beast for it today. They carry HLG products as well which is cool.

I switched from Happy Frog to Mother Earth coco/peat last year. I will never go back to HF for sure.
I wrote to Mother Earth and they told me it’s 30% coco/30% peat with the rest being perlite, pumice stone and natural amendments like earthworm castings, etc.
Unlike FFHF or OF the nute charge is very lite and I start Jacks at 50% with the first watering. Maybe 2-3 waterings at 50% then they just get whatever the big girls are getting! LOL!
It’s lite and airy straight out of the bag and drains like a champ.
I had read on another forum to treat it as hydro but ME said treat it as soil, so I do.
I guess my first full run with it was my clones and they did great!!

12 - 1g bags, ILGM Super Skunk clones, 2x4 tent.
The top of the frame was 15" off the floor.
Somewhere between a pound and a pound and a half…I started smoking early and never weighed the final tally. LOL!
Couldn’t resist my favorite bud pic from that grow!
Some of those calyxes were the size of baby lima beans!

Everything I’ve got going now is in Mother Earth coco/peat.

@The_Chef ahh yesss ! What a beautiful sight ! And you are very welcome my friend , i an happy that i was able to convince you, just wait until you see the end product on what these babies can turn out . Quality and yeild pay for itself haha

@Tylersays yeah i treat my coco as hydro and feed every watering at a ph of 5.8. But i have seen many people treating as soil and ph it at 6.5 and have great success as well, always wondered why but hey if its working why fix it right haha

Wow man, you are killing it! That setup looks fantastic!

I ran Ph in the upper 5’s for probably the first 2 weeks on the clones then wrote to them and switched on the next grow - they never missed a beat!
i did have 3 clones that put out a couple of nanners each, but I think that was the plant and not the soil or Ph. i took the clones about a month into flower from the mother!
Penelope that I have in the 2x2 by herself is the last of that clan. Genetically speaking she’s almost a year old now!
I fully expect nanners on her too. She hasn’t had the best treatment! LOL!

That was my last grow! Got a new one going now! Stop by if you want!!

There’s a lot of straight up stoned ass posting in that journal!

 :joy:

Yeah a lot of times nanners are caused a lot by genetics . I havent had too many in my grows but as you may remember these dark Phoenix plants threw them in early flower which made me nervous but using that product switch helped me revert them back into fully females hahaha but theres always a work around for everything with these plants hahaha
