Hold off on the humidity packs until after curing is finished.
She is a teenager at only 62 total days. Its been a long time but the WWA I grew all took 90 - 100 days. It was indoors so it will probably be a little faster under natural sunlight.
Keep feeding flower nutrients for another week or two and then see where she is. I look first at the pistils. Are most of them brown and laying down - If so I know she is getting close. I use a USB microscope to make the final call.
She looks good. Good luck the rest of the way.
Post more pics later on and tag people for opinions.
Next grow, I will have to learn how to wash. Focus this grow currently is personal cure process development or seed recovery
Your milky photo is more half and half then milky. Notice the stalk still gleams like a crystal that is being shined on by a flashlight. Milky looks more opaque.
Seeing quite a bit of yellowing ofthe plants. I assume thats normal? Hit day 68. Will they make it another 2 weeks?
Scrolling through and pretty much everything has been said. Grove bags are a must. They were so much easier than jars. Also want to reinforce the point made above about humidity packs. They are for maintaining the rh in storage not for the early part of the dry and curing. I have one but I keep it in the jar I’m using from and opening frequently.
It’s normal for the fan leaves to start yellowing at the end. More experienced growers are here that can do a better job explaining and diagnosing in case it is more than normal. Either way, the yellow leaves can be taken off. The plant’s done with these. I like purpngold’s advice to remove the ones that detach with a very slight tug and the ones that want to hang on stay. Or you can prune them or simply leave them. Wait for others to chime in. The miracle grow factor is outside my experience. Is this after a clean water flush by chance?
Yes on the rh packs after the cure. I mispoke when putting that together. Ive looked around and seen that the yellowing is PROBABLY normal, so im not in panic mode now. But i did trim off the worst looking leaves that came off without tugging.
I will do bud washing with hydrogen peroxide ect…
drying will be done in a wine fridge with complete
Environmental controls.
Curing will be in jars (i have tons of em from distillation, no use spending more money on something else when this will work) with a hygrometer till they reach that 62%. At that point the packs will be added. Correct me if any of that is in the wrong order or something else needs mentioned.
Post dry trimming will be done due to time schedule, aka when my sister will be here to help. All trim will be saved of course.
Sounds good. The bags are cheap and MUCH less work since they don’t require burping and the bud cures in the bag. Its worth the switch and why everyone is raving about them. I already had jars too but not having to burp a dozen jars daily was a great help as I also have limited free time.
Had a friend over whos on his 5th grow. He looked and said if i dont want couch lock and its for eddibles, your ready to cut. So here they are ready for drying in my wine fridge. System is set to 60°f and 58% humidity. Pre-dry weight was 1 lb 14.4 oz. From 3 white widow autoflower on my first grow! Cant wait to see the final trim and dry weight. I just hope i dont lose the high end 75%. Still for a guy with the black thumb of death…i have succeeded!
The pics of the bud hanging in the tent are from last night. And yes my photo skills suck as bad as my growing skills. I didnt have the fridge in the shop till today. But now she should be low and slow for the remainder of the time.
Congratulations my brother so happy for you … you should proud of yourself…
Well done!
While your friend was correct about the non couchlock-ness I want to impart to you a different perspective. With cannabis extraction, its quality in quality out. Edibles, dabs, joints, all should be made with the best trichomes you can grow. Which is more what we all do then “gardening”. We farm MATURE trichomes. Immature ones have no place in consumption. To avoid this, shoot for just under 10% amber. Doing so essentially allows the first few trichomes that form go, in place of those created further down the line from initial production. Just like a car, even off the line, the speed builds. Gaining more speed per second than the speed per second gained immediatly following tromping on the gas.
