First grow - yellow dying leaves

This is my first grow. I have 3 different strains of Autoflowers: AK-47, White Widow and Bubblegum. I germinated them all at the same time and this is around week 10. Everything was going fine until 3 weeks ago, I started to get a bunch of yellow leaves which then die. I then started to feed them full strength Growth Science nutrients weekly and additional water when soil is dry. I had been feeding about 1/2 before. I have also been dealing with fungus gnats but I am starting to get that under control. I make sure PH is around 6.5.

IMO, she still looks hungry

What are the ratios of the nute line you are using. Looks like she might need some N or Cal mag.

How hot is your tent? I see slight canoeing which my first thought would be 82º or higher and maybe light too close?

I have assumed these are in the transition phase so based on Growth Science feeding table I am using their Base A, B, Solid Start and Rock Solid. Base A is 5,0,0 B is 0,6,4 Solid Start 2,0,6 and Rock Solid is 0,4,4. Same amount of each product.

I use AC Infinity controller and try to keep temps at 75 and humidity below 70%. the light is at the very top of the tent. The White Widow won’t stop growing up so it is under 6" from the light but the other 2 are shorter so they are 18".

Looks like she wants nitrogen to me. I’m only versed in organics so the bottle feed/synthetic folks here should be able to tell you how to get it corrected.

Feed at 1000 PPMs at 6.5 to approximately 20% run off Growmie. Follow a drench to drought routine testing the run off each time with an input and run off target of 1000 PPMs. Once she greens up testing can be less frequent but keep the input and run off numbers above in mind :love_you_gesture:

so do I test the PPM of the water first then get nutes to increase it by 1000 or the total to 1000? Also should I flush to clean up any issues first?

thanks for everyone’s help, hopefully I can get this figured out.

All depends on the quality of your water! If your starting water has a lower ppm value i wouldn’t worry about accounting for the water ppm and mix a full dose of nutes 1000-1100 is fine as a full dose just get adequate runoff also does this nutrient line only recommend 1x per week feedings when i was using synthetic nutrients i fed 2x per week with plain waterings between feedings always adequate runoff

under watered poxssibly, mine looked like that when I started to grtopw now im mastering the art of crossbreeding autos, my 1st ones with photos, growing is easy.but the drying & curing are a little skeptical, everything has to be perfect, but can’t always but mine is only personal, and the buds are sticky & more potent than the dispensary, I started growing my own & hoping I can get as much weed as i spent for the seeds, you get a lot more, keep it up, in time you’ll be good

The instructions don’t state how often to feed. It just says flush regularly. I decided to buy FoxFarm Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom nutrients since that seems to be a popular choice. Should I flush and switch to FoxFarm at this time or just finish my grow and switch for my next attempt? My TDS meter will be here tomorrow so hopefully I will get a better picture of where I stand.

I personally would just stick with what you have been using atleast for the remainder of this grow then switch if youd like feed 2x per week and water in between the feedings what TDS meter did you get and what ph meter do you have?

OK, that is what I figured, just finish it out. I have been using PH liquid testing kit from General Hydroponics. I don’t like guessing at the color especially since the nutes make the water reddish-brown. I just ordered a cheap TDS pen.

Amazon.com: TDS Meter Digital Water Tester, DUMSAMKER Professional 3-in-1 TDS, Temperature and EC Meter with Carrying Case, 0-9999ppm, Ideal ppm Meter for Drinking Water, Aquariums and More : Patio, Lawn & Garden

I also ordered this PH meter to validate what I am guessing the PH to be based on the liquid testing.

PH Meter for Water Hydroponics Digital PH Tester Pen 0.01 High Accuracy Pocket Size with 0-14 PH Measurement Range for Household Drinking, Pool and Aquarium (Yellow): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

The tds meter should be good but i wont BS the cheap PH meters absolutely suck and are un reliable id highly suggest getting a quality PH meter the Apera PH20 is a good quality unit they do also have a 5 in 1 meter that reads PH,EC,TDS,Temp, and salinity as well but its 160 dollars as the PH20 is 50 i believe

OK, I will see how well this PH meter works compared to my color guessing. I did purchase the calibration liquids to hopefully validate the meter. I will definitely look into the Apera. Thanks for the assistance.

So I received my TDS and PH meters today. I brewed up a batch of nutes and the TDS was only 650. My water already was 200 TDS so these nutes are pretty weak. I added another round of nutes and it bumped TDS to 1100. Hopefully that will solve my issues. I will test the runoff to make sure PH and TDS is good.
