looking good but I would make sure your top feed tubes aren’t saturating your rockwool
Ok so, two of my plants have these brown spots on the bottom leaves.
I did a rez change on the 11th and added
130 ml b.c. Boost
65 ml b.c. Grow
20 ml thrive alive red
20 ml magiCal
90 ml sugar daddy
Total ppm:530
Air temp:75
Rez temp:68.2
Rh: 48
Ph has been steady 5.6-5.8
My new water was a bit cold I waited till it was 57f to put the plants back in. But they were sitting out of h2o for about an hour. Mistake?
Such a pain changing this rez! The rez was very slimey after just a week. Don’t know what I’m going to do when plants get bigger cuz my water pump that I use to pump water out is connected to my top water lines in the rez.Now I know why people use buckets… To late now.
Anyhoo… Any idea why the brown spots? Could be so many things! I did have heat stress early on…
I added 2ml/gal hydroguard this morning also.
what do your roots look like and RH relative humidity and some of it could be nutrient splash from top feed lines
I’ll take a pic of roots when I get home. Rh has been around 50. The roots seemed to kind of wilt after the rez change and looked brown, but I don’t know if it was staining from the nutes. I used hydroguard and they look more white now.
I also discontinued the top feed altogether yesterday, though it could have splashed the 1St day. it does look like you could almost wipe it off
They look to be doing well I use a aquarium heater in my res to bring temps up and typically add some warm tap water to mix so it isn’t too shocking to my ladies at a change. My tap water ppm is barely over 100ppm so not an issue your ladies look to be doing well the browns spots were likely do to splash don’t forget to mist the tops couple times a day they are still acclimatizing to RH
sorry for delayed response read lastnight and nothing looked pressing
Thanks! Hoping it was just splashing. This pic is from this morning. I will start misting more. The leaves with brown seem thin compared to others, but top leaves seem ok.
Could it be that your ph swing wildly if you were in soil that would be my first guess i am reading everything on hydro going to buy my setup soon …and im following you grow because its your first hydro grow right???
they are closest to bottom and likely were getting burned by nutrient solution splashing them if new growth looks and feels ok than it isn’t a concern but if you continue to see it progress we’ll revisit conditions and feed dose to lower ppm some trouble shoot
Splash burn is more likely since small net pots and top feed drip emiters were very close in earlier pictures
I see now
Looked just like my last plant that had low ph started with lowest leaves but im no hydro guy YET ill be asking 1000 questions soon haha
Thanks @Donaldj
No prob love hydro only grow mothers in soil now just because I am in no rush and starting seeds in hydro can be a royal pain waste lots of nutrients and so fickle between strains.
Clones only huh i was thinking of doing the same thing ive got a year round supply of great quality clones was thinking blue dream clone for first run with hydro
I like picking my own mother so I know it’s traits node spacing growth rates but yes far easier to work with clones. Think of it this way 10 seeds in hydro 7 start 2 are larger than others 2 more are prone to root or def issue but all are same strain? this is the nature of seeds. Clones on the other hand are identical in genetics if same mother all grow close to same speed all have exact same traits which in the end is easier to grow? The ones that need and want same things or the variety?
What would you recommend DWC OR RDWC i like RDWC myself id love to get a four site unit but will learn on just DWC cheap 50 dollar setup plan is
5x5x7 tent
4 bucket rdwc
8inch exhaust
6inch intake
And not sure which LED yet but im willing to spend 1000.00 on light that setup should keep me happy for awhile lol
With speed controllers too
