That’s a pretty light feed but the in the picture they appear healthy make sure to put lecca all around your plant in the net pot reduces lightand you shouldn’t spray then too often it saturates the rockwool over watering is the most common mistake with sprouts. keep a dome on them and simply encourage the roots to find water by not getting the rockwool too wet if they have roots coming out the bottom they will find their way to water through the lecca
Ugh. One of my girls is shriveling and dying. I keep hearing not to water, but the rockwool is very dry. Don’t know what else to do. I raised the lights up but that didn’t help.
Bottom water add water to the tray and just a little to rockwool [quote=“Donaldj, post:34, topic:7935”]
you wish or you could place some leca/hydroton under rockwool 1/2" or so and bottom water to encourage roots and wait until you have some roots visibly coming out of bottom of rockwool

From your earlier pictures I assumed this was what you were doing? They are probably ready to be put into unit [quote=“lesliegjones83, post:41, topic:7935”]
And yesterday I poured about a cup in the bottom of my tray to promote root growth under the net cups.

I’m sorry if I left out something I was pretty sure as I read your thread you were reading between lines and taking correct steps your rockwool does need some moisture but shouldn’t be saturated net pots can be set in tray of water just not as high as rockwool
Must be it. I just had water at the bottom of the cups. When I moved them to the net cups I watered them. Idk. I’ll adjust and hope for the best.
Update…
So they are looking slightly better today. I’m fighting with my temps which I did not expect living in a cold state. My rez temps were up to 74 when I got home. Added ice packs and now down to 70 and dropping. Even with an led I’ve been struggling to keep it under 80 in the tent!
My ph is constantly rising as well. I have to ph down at least once a day. They’ve never gotten above 7 but every day I come home from work its back up to 6.5-6.9. I have a 2nd ph meter ordered just to make sure I get it right.
My coty leaves have all turned yellow and new leaves are light green except the one that popped last(dark green and looks good). I know they’re smaller then they should be, but I did do a small amount of nutes yesterday…a mix of Sugar Daddy and Root 66. PPM: 165 (RO water)
They do look better(not as yellow) since I did that with roots finally coming out of the net cup in all but one.
I’m pretty sure I have to give up on my shriveled plant though the stem seems to be beefing up since yesterday… But the leaves are dried and look dead.
As for the rest I got my air temps down to 75,
RH:42
light: 36" above.
I also still have a dome over my plants… Is this dumb to do while they in the system?
Any other guidance would be greatly appreciated… I’m kind of a nervous wreck about killing one ( I think because of too high of temps and light too close)and don’t want to do any more damage.
sorry migraine so trying to think through this post they should be fine under a dome as they get bigger remove for now simply take the dome off several times a day I’m glad you are trying to keep res temps in check fairly hard to do at times
I downloaded a light meter and even at 36" is reading 11000 lumens. So I definitely had it too close in the beginning.
Things continuing to look up. 2 weeks from germination.
Good root growth. Darker green than before.
Rez temp: 67.5
Room temp: 71.7
Rh: 51
Ph: I bring it down every morning and sometimes at night from 6.4ish down to 5.8
Ppm: going up slightly from 162(Dec 5) to 174 today. (97.5ml of sugar daddy and 97.5 ml root 66) From Evaporation?
Also misted ph balanced water with thrive alive green at a ppm of 120.
Temps finally under control with my window open a crack! (it was 18f yesterday outside). Still added one ice pack last to keep rez in a good spot.
Very small amount of brown on 2 roots. Should I be concerned? I don’t want to stress them any more than I already have unless necessary.
if you are adjusting ph what you use to adjust also adds to ppm if you are concerned about the brown change res and add h2o2 3% at around 15 ml a gallon otherwise everything seems to be doing ok
Thanks @Donaldj I didn’t know that about the ph down bringing up your ppm.
I just spent 3 hours waiting for my car to get fixed and all I did was investigate all over this forum. My brain is overflowing with hydroponics and nutrients and air pumps. I also spent another 100 on stuff that I probably don’t need… But hey, it’ll pay off in the end, right? I got some hydroguard among other things and I’ll try that and see how it works.
odds are you got stuff you didn’t need but happens to me all the time lol it’s worse when you can walk into hydro shop and buy things
I don’t live near a shop, but I’m surprised Amazon hasn’t kicked me off prime for how many orders I’ve placed in a month.
I love my hydroguard and have heard nothing but good things about it from other people def a good buy there.
Update: plants are growing, roots are growing and seem clean. I’m going to change rez tomorrow and bring my nutes up a little.
I have a top water feature on my system. I’ve just set it to turn on for 15 min, 4 times a day. I have them set to the very edge of my net cups so the rockwool doesn’t get soaked. I’m not sure if I should even use the top water feature… Any experience with this?
