BtK and Spinosad are the two active bacteria. You might find it by searching for that.
Yea for canadians, we use safers insecticidal soap concentrate insect killer. Does the same thing as captain jacks.
I reached out to captain jacks and they dont sell outside the USA.
Thanks for your help man! @Myfriendis410
Here is what the critters look like. I seen one brown one today. But only 1 brown and 1 white seen over the last 2 days.
Using stocky traps and neem oil solution spray and ontop of promix.
Any advice for the stocky traps and using them effectively @dbrn32 @SheilaT @ChittyChittyBangin @GreggT @Myfriendis410
Buy a large pack and change them often. Dust and such makes them less effective over time.
Instead of chasing name brands like captain jacks, try looking for something with same active ingredient, which is spinosad. If you can’t find anything with spinosad try looking for Beauveria products. Both should be effective against root aphids.
I’ve got a 40 pack of these sticky traps from amazon, good deal.
Also seeing more leaf damage today. Caught some more critters too.
- Only seeing white and brown root aphids and 1 gnat - traps are doing work!
- Neem oil spray seems to be working with the autopots
I hope they will be good for when I go away on vacation next week!
I’ll refresh the sticky traps before I leave and pH check the reservoir to 5.8
I would lay the traps down. They will be more effective.
@GreggT how many should i use at a time for each plant? Should they be close to the plant stem?
I havent seen anymore but the 2 I caught so far. I used a neem solution in the soil and turned off the autopots for now.
I cut a sheet in half and lay half on each side
Update.
Plants are now 9 weeks old and growing well.
Autopots are feeding them steady. I can feel the growth incoming. These plants are staying very short and stout, like the genetics say. Going to flip to flower soon, since they have been very healthy the last 2 weeks.
Im wondering if I should switch to blooming nutes once the reservoir is getting empty. 1/4 of res is left. I might just fill the res and add bloom nutes and switch to 12/12 within a week. Not worried about height but these plants stay so small i dont think theyll get much taller.
Update incoming. Plants are at 11 weeks of veg today.
Both sharks are looking beautiful! Tons of branches are becoming the same heigh and sizes. I keep pushing out the branches and using bud clips to keep them level.
Feeding 430ppms right now. I think I will kick it up abit to maybe 550 or 600ppms once this res is down below 1/4th. Using the AN line of nutes, 1/2 strength so far. The plants are praying today for the first time! So happy to see this finally.
Started using the autopots system when I was on vacation. Came back and the plants were fired up! I love this system so far! So easy to use. Using a wavemaker in the res to keep it mixed and checking ph and ppm every other day. Did some defoliation today to open up the middle and removed some bottom leaves. There finally begining to stretch more with very tight internode spacing. Im happy with that, but it feels like they have been taking forever to grow this big. Im going to let them grow for 2 more weeks then probably flip to flower.
Im enjoying this journey with everyone! Stay tuned!
Week 11 growing like crazy now. Im going to kick it up to full strenth now. They are looking abit hungry. The one on the right def is.
Well its been a week since Ive updated.
On week 12 of veg. Just looked over the res. Wave maker is operational on every 1hr for 15 mins. Res is 1/3 empty. Time to fill it up.
Ckecked over the liquid remaining and it looks clean, smells clean. Tested ppms and ph. Ph 6.5 so I lowered it to 6.0. Ppms at 950.
Mixed in Advanced Nutrients micro, grow, bloom as recommended on bottles at full strength. Added voodoo juice, calmag, and b52 as recommended.
Ppms 950 of new res at 6.0ph.
Adjusted the light to 26" from the tops of the plants. Plants are very short, 80% indica strain is expected. Im hoping the light distance will allow them to stretch to it more. Running SF2000 at 60-80% resding the plants and back off to 60% if needed. Currently at 80% and doing great. Plants are praying again!
Got a new floor fan for an intake on my tent. Temps were to hot. Tent is usually 22-26C but the last 2 days has been at 28-29C.
Rh is at 50-62%
2 pole fans onside blowing on the leaves to strengthen them up. Carbon filter had been added on now. These girls are starting to smell good!
exhaust is at 6-10 speed. At 10 on hot days. Usually at 6 on normal days.
Any tips I would greatly appreciate. I want thes plants to stretch but they have not been. Must be the strain. Also grew these from seeds and not clones.
Its time for a 2 week update.
These are how the 2 sharks are looking now. They are much more full. Each has about 12-16 tops to make some juicy fat buds.
Just switched these girls into flower yesterday. So 1 week and defoliation will commence. Going to lollipop them in 1-2 weeks time too.
Since deploying the autopots when I went on vacation. That saved these girls, made watering more consistent and often.
Res cleaned every 2 weeks.
Using: calmag, micro, grow, bloom, b52, voodoo juice. Im thinking of adding silica to the next res. Ph to 5.8 - 6.0 using promix hp mycorhyza. Under the spide farmer 2000 light at 80% going to be turning it up as the weeks go by. This strain says 7-8 weeks flowering, we will see!
Happy growing and stay tuned! And a big thanks to @dbrn32 @ChittyChittyBangin @GreggT @4204life @Myfriendis410 @SheilaT all for helping me out! Love you guys and gals! Aweaome community.
Lookin good!
You should run silica from the get go. Trichomes are composed of silica.
Do not remove any more leaves than you have to. Leaves produce the sugars that the plant uses to build flower. Without adequate leaves the yield will be reduced. A true ‘lollipop’ is done just ahead of harvest.
Roger that my friend, ill be removing the bottom 1/3 of the plant and leaving the tops. Following hellraisers guide! Ill take your word for it. Its very minimal.
They should be some great white sharks very soon!
Yes; once the screen is populated you can remove almost everything under it.
Great job! Hi the girl are looking awesome .
Thank you for all your help and encouragement.
