Here’s my dedicated area soon to be a grow chamber. I was thinking of sealing it with thick poly and then getting reflective material for lighting.
It’s 3’ X 6’ and 7’ at the ceiling. How many watts LED per square foot would be appropriate for this much space?
I’m in the process of searching for suitable LED lights, exhaust fan, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated. I’ve seen some good info in other threads.
Figure 35 to 50w per sq ft if a cheaper led lights go with 50w psf if good lights like hlg optic foshe gavita ECT u can get away with 35is much under these numbers will still grow beautiful buds but most likely a bit airy. What’s a budget u wanna get into is the key question. Then the light ideas will come to ya without being an o erabundance of selections. If money is no option then I’d say shoot for hlg lights as they have super great customer service also the lights r killer good. I have all hlg lights and love every bit about them.
If it wasn’t for the stairs sloping the ceiling you would have had a lot more room. You got central ac and heat down there?
The problem is the width, as once the plants get bigger those in the back will be impossible to get to. It’s gonna be a big hassle later.
The room in front of that room is a way bigger option. You can then make that room a closet for your supplies.
That’s a good point 2GreenThumbs. There’s other areas that I could probably make it happen.
I was only thinking about being able to lock the door so my ADHD niece can’t mess with the plants if she gets angry. I think she will be respectful though because I will be the one responsible for the grow at my sister’s house and she’s usually good for me.
Good point @2GreenThumbs makes. I have a 5x7x7 room and 3 is a crowd when they get bushy. You have good spot to get you started and after your first run youre gonna want to expand
Just a thought, but you could section that larger room off with a hidden door into a real grow room, or put a tent in either.

I’m probably going to construct a tent in the larger area. The only issue is cat proofing it.
I’m going to need to make a hard exterior or something because plastic will be shredded by the 2 felines running around.
Yeah you gotta watch animals they are attracted to the smell.
I guess I am going to have to deal with the small space.
3 X 6 will allow maybe 3 plants then?
The ceiling slopes from 7 feet down to 4 feet in the back.
Would that require me to train a sativa like Super Silver Haze?

I run Sonofarm 4000s & 2000 and love them. 1 4000 & 1 2000 in my 4x4 tent. Grew a single sativa that produced 13 ozs. of primo buds. In my 4x8 I run 4 of the 4000s. I can run 7 10 gallon bags and finish them beautifully!
I’d put a wall up in your room right where the slope begins. Run a single plant in a 15 gallon bag under a single SF 4000. You can harvest 2 big photo period plants a year and get at leat a pound a year!!!
OR build a new room in that bigger space you have. Or get a tent…
